Went to the Bottega on our first night in Rome and after travelling all day, this was like entering an oasis of style and sophistication, with excellent service and fantastic food. Of all the restaurants we visited, this was definitely the best - offering personal attentive service, with style and sophistication.

Not cheap, but as in life, you usually get what you pay for!

I happened upon this restaurant on a rainy Sunday afternoon in April. As I was reviewing the menu, I noticed the staff was inside cleaning from the lunch service, they were literally pulling out each bar stool and scrubbing the wall. . . a good sign. Even though they were closed, they noticed me looking at the menu and asked me to step inside. I made a reservation for that evening on the spot. We were one of just a couple of tables that night in the restaurant. The food was very delicious (lobster spaghetti, truffle gnocchi, wild beet salad, pan seared turbot with a potato napoleon). The atmosphere was very elegant, white tufted leather banquettes, linen tablecloths. But what stood out the most was the superior service. Everyone was incredibly polite and spoke English without hesitation or making us feel bad. They seem to be trying a little hard to be "hip and modern" and definitely appeal to the upscale American diner, but I will easily overlook that if I get the chance to dine here again!

My daughter and I came across this restaurant as we were scouting out places to have her wedding reception at. As soon as you sit down, you feel very special. It's a played down elegance; the service is great; and the food was the best we had in Rome. From a simple pasta dish to the thinly sliced beef layered with artichokes - it was just awesome. The tiramisu was also the best we have had. Truly a treasure tucked away near the Pantheon.

Very nicely designed wine bar / resto convieniently located between the Corso and the Pantheon (after Piazza di Pietra). Excellent and courteous service, great selection of wines. Background music just right volume, laid-back lounge music.
