Fantastic seafood at Ristorante Vivara. Cozze (mussels), marinated raw fish with mango, calamari and whole fish; all delicious. And accompanied by very good red and white wine, recommended by the manager. Sitting almost on the beach, watching the sun go down. Highly recommend Ristorante Vivara.

Our first night of staying in Procida we were very lucky to have dinner at the most beautiful restaurant on the island. The food was absolutely delicious and the view was outstanding. Highly recommend this restaurant (my personal favorite of our whole trip!) The service was also exceptional with our waiter Giuseppe! He was great!

If you're after a romantic meal whilst observing the sun melt into the sea, you'll struggle to do better than this spot. The staff were all gorgeous, friendly, funny and helpful, we were served by Giuseppe and he was just lovely. The seafood was brilliantly done and the menu was reassuringly limited and everything we had was a true delight (fresh pasta, catch of the day). Once the meal was over we were welcomed to stay at our outdoor table, which looked directly out to sea and enjoy a few glasses of wine and local hospitality. If you want to sit outside it's best to reserve in advance but wherever you dine, the real star is the food and hospitality. Enjoy!

This is just a simple restaurant on the narrow Chiaiolella beach. I had lunch here. The service was very friendly but the food was really nothing special. I sat inside at the open window which gave some relief in the heat but it would have been nice to have had a ceiling fan.

I was expecting an amazing meal after reading all the views but for me it was nothing special and the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 3 is because the staff was so nice and the service was good. Make sure you reserve a table either ahead of time by phone or as soon as you get to the beach.

I had a bottle of the Ischian white wine Biancolella Kalimera for €28, ravioli ripieni di bufala con pomodorino e ricotta salata for €12 then frittura di paranza (deep-fried small fish) for €12. The pasta was fine but I spent the rest of the meal picking the bones out of the fish so unless you are good at filleting small fish I don't recommend it here or anywhere else.

The restaurant rents out sunbeds and parasols right in front but by the time I got there everything had been taken or was reserved so call ahead to book one. They have showers there and there is also a free shower on the public part of the beach.

The beach is long and narrow and there are no stairs or hills to climb but be warned that the sand is dark and really burns your feet, it also has tiny stones which stick to your burnt feet and are difficult to rinse off. The sea is shallow but when you want to get out your feet get stuck in the sand.

You can catch a small bus there from the port or the town centre. A ticket costs €2 on the bus or €1.50 from a tabaccheria. However, the buses get full quickly and won't always stop at the bus stop if they're already full. A taxi costs €15.

Our favourite eating spots are on the beach. After months of slogging and chaotic city life nothing beats a meal by lapping waves. Here we got that along with delicious fish and exquisite desserts. Super attentive personnel. We’ll be back tomorrow!
