We booked the 2 bed apartment through booking.com for 90 euro a night. None of the photos on the website for the 2 bed apartment match so I will post some on here. I was so disappointed when we arrived!
The apartment is in a building round the back, separate from the main hotel. The 'patio' is some tarmac on the edge of the car park. The window was cracked, the bathroom was ok but the shower was pretty mouldy.
To get to the bathroom you have to walk through one of the bedrooms, also this bedroom has no natural light apart from a large gap open to the living area. So you won't get much sleep in there if anyone else is awake or has the light on in the living area.
I think it is the family room next door (not sure) anyway while we were staying a family arrived and left 30 mins later because they were not happy. I get the sense from other reviews that the rooms and bathrooms in the main part of the building with the balconies are much nicer, not that I saw one!
The beds were firm but ok but be aware if you have a fifth occupant they will be on one of those campbeds mentioned in some reviews. When we arrived the campbed was set up, thank goodness we didn't need it because it was not great, 2 big gaps in the mattress. Main bedroom is good being private and with aircon and a window even if it does open onto a brick wall. The wardrobe is massive but needs more coathangers as there were only a few when I visited, rendering most of the wardrobe useless!.
There was no tv or kettle and not much cutlery, no mugs. There is a table with 4 hard plastic chairs and a kitchenette with an oven, 4 hobs and sink. I think if you were just there a couple of days it would be ok but it's a shame there isn't anywhere to relax like a sofa. It is just basic and functional, for the price it is ok. The breakfast is a bonus if you like doughnuts and pastries! Rooms are tided daily. Aircon in bedroom and living area, works well. 10 min walk to the ruins and circumvesuviana which is great.
The staff did seem anxious to please, but when I mentioned at arrival that the apartment was not as described, they just said "this is your apartment" twice and I gave up. The lady's English is not good and my Italian is non existent so fair enough, I shut up and got on with making the most of my holiday.
For the price it is ok, you won't get much cheaper. I dilly dallied and missed out on a couple of cheaper private apartments. Try Domus Vitalia maybe. I missed out on that by one day. If I could go back I would try that. Maybe next time! I can't see us going back to Vesuview.
