Hotel Diana was one of the friendliest and welcoming hotels we've ever stayed in. The manager and his staff were always helpful and forthcoming with information; he and many of the team spoke excellent English. Overall service and the largish continental breakfast selection were both splendid, as was the availability of Internet access via two hotel-owned laptops. We enjoyed our stay in Pompei and were pleased to have chosen to stay in Pompei as our base for visiting the ruins of Pompei and those at Herculaneum; the local ruins were within easy walking distance. Restaurants as recommended by the hotel were excellent.

As we were unloading our cases one fell and badly injured my wife's leg. Alessandro was coming out to greet us and immediately called inside for help. He then parked the car while his mother bathed and dressed the wound while other staff helped in the cosy little lounge. They discreetly enquired after her progress over the following few days.
This friendly, helpful attitude was typical for our entire visit, not just from the family but from all the staff.
Location is on a quiet cul de sac a short stroll from the centre and the ruins. There is a good restaurant 100 yards away.
The private car park to the rear is very secure and the garden is a haven of tranquillity with a choice of sun or shady citrus trees.
Rooms were spotless with comfortable beds.
Breakfasts were very good with a wide choice of beverages.
Each of the staff on reception was friendly and helpful with good advice about local food and drink, places to visit, where to shop, train stations and timetables, and always insisted on carrying out drinks to the garden.
This is a 3 star hotel with 5 star qualities.
Thanks to Alessandro and his whole team for helping to make our holiday so good, despite an unfortunate accident at the start.

We stayed at this great value hotel for a short 5-day break to view the ruins of Pompei.
Our room was small but had everything you could want/need. The whole hotel was very clean and well kept. The hotel is perfectly located - just a short walk to the town square and main streets, a 5-minute walk to the main entrance of the ruins and just across the road and round the corner from the train station. However, there was absolutely no problem with noise - it was a nice and quiet. Alessandro, who has a fantastic Geordie lilt to his English, and his staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful with information on what not to miss at the ruins, recommendations for eating out, train and bus times, suggestions for how to plan your day - not just in Pompei but also in Naples. The small bar in the reception area is just perfect for a beer after you come back from your day out, tired and dusty, but before getting ready for dinner and the garden outside with its orange and lemon trees is great for a late-night drink or for breakfast al fresco.
The breakfast buffet had everything you need for a perfect start to your day - cappucinos and espressos made fresh to order, fruit juices, cold meats, cheeses, jams, marmelade, fruits, cereals, croissants and pastries and also tarts.
The hotel offers free WLAN and 2 computers in the reception area which are free to use.
Overall, this hotel was perfect for our needs, good value and truly deserves its number 1 rating - we would certainly return here in future!

A fine location within easy walking distance of the Pompeii excavation. The rooms were fine, but Alessandro, the host, is quite extraordinary. Having been brought up in Britain, he speaks impeccable English, but was willing to indulge our efforts at Italian. He made our party of four feel quite special, and he and his staff were very attentive to our questions about the area. The breakfast at Hotel Diana is a delightful and sumptuous.

We stayed here at the start of our trip in Italy and had a great experience. This is a lovely modern hotel with a fantastic staff. We had a particularly good experience with one of the family owners - Alexandro - who recommended places to eat, mapped out the best route for our visit to Pompeii, and greeted us each day with a friendly personality and wealth of information.

The hotel is clean, comfortable, and the air conditioning worked wonderfully :) There is a patio outside with orange and lemon trees where we had their house wine and a glass of beer. Both were delightful and the atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing. Breakfast was delicious and our cappuccino order was delivered promptly to our table.

The location is fantastic - just minutes away from the city center, train station and ruins. Make sure you take the proper transportation though – pick the Trenitalia, not the Circumvesuviana like we did or you’ll end up walking with your bags for about a mile to the hotel ;)

Overall, we highly recommend this hotel and would certainly return here for any future stays in Pompeii.

This was a really nice hotel within walking distance of all the sights and right around the corner from a great restaurant. The breakfast was great and the staff was very helpful in telling us how to get everywhere we wanted to go. The owner even gave us wonderful lemons from the trees on property to take with us on our journey. We had a very nice room with a terrace overlooking the street below and spent a pleasant evening there before going to the restaurant (also highly rated on TripAdvisor) just around the corner. We would recommend this to anyone who wishes to be close to all the sights of Pompeii, just down the street from the beautiful Cathedral and close enough to walk to the ancient ruins.
