This basiica and tower are main things to see whike in Pompei. Pompeii is not just about ruins but this place is part if the history and spiritual experience in Pompei. There is a museum in the basilica which has furniture from Bartolo Longo who was the founder of this place and was beautified by the Catholic Church. They say that miracles have happen here in front of a painting of Mary the Virgin. The basilica is didicated to Mary the Virgin and the Rosary. The mass here is an experience and the singing sounds like angels. I highly recommend you go up to the tower to see the beautiful views of Pompei Mt Vesuvius and Naples. What an awesome beautiful view. There are dedications in the hallways to The Rosary Mary for miracles that people claim happen to them or family members it’s overwhelming and emotional experience. There was also a orphanage here and many photos of children who once lived on the grounds here. The eyes of the children will bring you to tears you can see their pain. Its very much a historic heart throbbing experience here. I recommend you go to a mass here to experience the services. You can get tickets to the tower inside the gift shop which is the door behind the tower walk straight to the right. You will see religious items being sold by the nuns of the basilica.

Whilst going in churches isn't really my thing going up the Bell Tower is worth the trip. Only 2€ to get to the top ( it's a lift you don't have to walk up the steps! ) and the view is fantastic. Pompeii, the Bay of Naples and more, try it.

We visited this church which is located on the main square. Very beautiful inside and no entry fee. If you go to the back to the left hand side you can buy a ticket to take the lift to the top of the bell tower, cost 2 Euro. Well worth it as the surrounding views are lovely.

Beautiful church, well worth the visit. Best bit of all is the bell tower next door, take a lift to the top for €2 and get a spectacular view of Pompei, Sorento and the surrounding hill.

Not far from the amphitheater entrance to the site, a beautiful and imposing Roman Catholic cathedral and Marian pontifical shrine to Virgin of the Rosary, consecrated by end of the 19th century. Very crowded on Sunday with locals and tourists alike.

it was a while that I did not go to visit the basilica, once again I found it majestic and perfectly kept, magnificent the nave with its spectacular frescoes, the organ at the entrance I do not remember having seen the same, the transept and the dome is of disarming beauty, the visible capitals denote a work of mastery of other times, the polychrome marbles of the columns difficult to describe the beauty of their colors, and finally the bell tower, I will not leave you leave the vote when you see it but believe me it is one of the most beautiful basilicas in the world

It looks similar to any other ones. The location is beautiful since its sitting right by many shops and dining areas! Take a few snap shots as we did and you’re good to go!

It's really was the most beautiful church I have been it. Take the time and visit! The hallways are filled with miracles people have received. Very special.
