“Temple of Fortuna Augusta of Ancient Pompeii”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

This is a rather small Temple dedicated to Goddess Fortuna Augusta and Imperial cult of Octavian August. Temple is situated north from Forum to the right from Forum Baths on the crossroads of Via della Fortuna, Via di Mercurio, Via delle Terme and Via del Foro close to the Honorary Arc, nr 16 of official map of the site. It was a lively crossroads of the Ancient Pompeii on the way to Herculaneum and Vesuvius Gates.
You can see the remains of a metal railing which could be used to close the building because of its popularity, which attracted a lot of visitors wishing for Divine favours in ancient times just like today.
