When you have had enough of pasta and pizza and you are looking for something different Kukai Nibu is a great choice. It's not the easiest place to find, being situated on a side street off the Via Toledo, but the Japanese flags outside are the give away. The interior is modern and the chefs work in clear sight of the restaurant which offers another dimension. There is a wide range of Japanese food including sushi, katsu curry and tempura vegetables. The only slight drawback is that the restaurant was very dark which made reading the menu somewhat of a challenge. Nonetheless this a was a really good spot for dinner and made a welcome change from Italian fare.

Sushi were ok, almost no service! We had to wait for almost 3hours for just 7 rolls and 2 rice bows with sushi. There were only 5 tables, max 16 person eating... we had to complain 2 times before we got our food...

Located in the historical center of Naples, near the Teatro San Carlo, Piazza Plebiscito and the Galleria Umberto, this small restaurant is in a side street of Via Toledo. The venue on the road is small and despite our reservation, they sent us in the basement, in the belly of the city. For a table upstairs it would have been necessary to explicitly ask when booking. To know! Through an uncomfortable aluminum ladder with a shaky railing you reach the various rooms in the lower resturant, dark enough, even if with good taste, and a bit claustrophobic.
The food is great, except the vegetable tempura, absolutely not up to expectation. The friendly and nice service is somewhat inefficient.
It is rather expensive.
Home delivery is cheaper.
Recommended but with caution both for the table and for the choice of dishes.

This restaurant is by far the best Japanese eatery in Naples. It serves traditional Japanese dishes that delle delicious in their semplicity. The prices may be lower, but, after all, you pay for what you get; and here you will always get that "something" you can't get anywhere else.

I've been there for the first time 6 years ago. second and last time, 1 month ago. So far, haven't found a better sushi restaurant anywhere. Not cheap, but it's definitely the place to spoil yourself when needed. the fish's quality is great, the place is cozy, the staff really nice. heading back there soon!
