We spent a few days in Naples and choose our Hotel via Tripadvisor. And for once it was a good joice.
In front of the Hotel you find (1) a Metro Station, (2) a small train station (funiculare) with direct access to the center (incl. shopping area) and (3) restaurants. So it's a perfect location, if you want to avoid the noice in the center.
The rooms are all on the 5th or 6th floor in a residential building. From the outside you wouldn't guess a hotel inside. The rooms where quite big, well equipped, clean and quite (for italian standards!).
Reception and Service people were extremly friendly and helpful.
No restaurant or bar. Small breakfeast room. Coffee quality could be better.

Room Tip: Ask for "Capri view"

Great hotel, very modern and the staff was fantastic.

The rooms are large and the barthrooms very modern.

The hotel is a little hard to find, but a quick call to the front desk and they will walk you through it all! The only downside to this hotel was the breakfast. It is a true Italian breakfast, so don't plan on cheeses or anything hot!

Cypsi's review said it all - all I can do is reiterate that this was one of our favourite hotels for a pretty substantial trip to Italy.

The taxi ride was a bit steep from the station but with luggage, take it. However, once you (and your taxi driver) finds the hotel, it's quite a refuge from the (lovely) craziness of Napoli. Good breakfast, very clean and quiet rooms, and very friendly reception.

We stayed two nights and would return. Good restaurants nearby as well. Excellent value.

Very nice place, situated in the nicest area of Naples, very helpful staff, decent Italian breakfast,
clean large rooms. It is not a boutique hotel, but as for three star hotel it is really ok.
I highly recommend it.

First off, this is not a hotel in the "conventional" sense - it is on the top floors of an apartment building, and my taxi driver had difficulty finding it. (It is, in fact, a building with an entrance to the Central Funicular at Piazza Fuga - if you are usng a taxi to get there, just ask for Piazza Fuga.) It is also not a full service hotel - far from it. But if all you want is a nice clean room with a decent size, with free wifi thrown in, then it is perfect. The choice of items for breakfast is limited, but enough to get you going and in any case there are coffee bars within a few minutes walk. In terms of location, I was in Naples on business, and wanted a hotel near metro line 1, so this fitted the bill because it is within spitting distance of not only Vanvitelli station, but three funiculars, which provide a quick way of getting into central Naples from Vomero, which is where the hotel is located. Vomero is probably the other big selling point for this hotel - it is a safe and very pleasant district with a good selection of cafes, restaurants, shops and ice cream parlours - but it is also minutes away (on the funicular at least) from the western end of central Naples. So I would also strongly recommend this hotel for a short break, especially if you want to avoid staying in central Naples (which rightly or wrongly - mostly wrongly I would say - has a "reputation"), but not be so far away that you cannot reach it quickly and conveniently. Finally, when you consider the room rates, it represents good value for money in my opinion.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view.

I am finding it difficult to rate this little hotel. We stayed one night at Hotel Cimarosa on our way home from Italy. It epotomises how we felt about Italy in general- it has some fantstic assets and has the potential to be sensational, but it suffers from neglect, and this is reflected in both the premises and the attitude of the staff, which I felt was a bit off-hand at times.
The decor is interesting with lots of modern art, but has not been well maintained; it is shabby in places and there were a few minor irritating faults in the room itself (shower head leaked out the side, drainage in shower poor, a light in the vestibule that was temperamental).
On the plus side, the location was ideal, in an interesting, safe part of Naples, with a train and the 3 funicolare within minutes walk, and lots of restaurants and great shopping close by.
It's such a shame that there has not been more attention to detail here, because it could be really great.
