Bottom line: I’d stay here again should I be in Naples again as a tourist.

The good: As others have said, this is a nice oasis. A beautiful locale, tucked away off the street. The garden is tremendous. The pool is refreshing. Breakfast and evening drinks on the terrace a delight. And the neighborhood is a fun one to explore, central to many tourist locations. Several great dining options in the immediate vicinity for all types of styles. Don’t miss out on the complete entertainment package… Be sure to take a taxi ride here during the busy weekday. It’s better than a roller coaster ride at Disneyworld, complete with a short bit the wrong way down a one-way street. Lots of honking and squeezing by. WiFi service is excellent and free. We stayed in a junior suite, meaning bed/bath in an upstairs loft, sitting area below. It felt spacious.

The bad: Service is … well, always with a smile, even if without consequence. Hot water was out on two of the six days we were here. It came back later each of those days. AC was limited. When we inquired about it not working, there was a good bit of theater to demonstrate concern, acknowledgement that it must be broken and would be fixed in a few days, and an offer to switch rooms. But we learned that the AC was no better in the other rooms, and all of this falderal was just to mollify us. The AC was set at the maximum it was going to be set at. Don’t accept any guidance on restaurants – we were steered away from our own selection and to what turned out to be a disastrous alternative that I can only imagine was owned my the management’s brother. The written directions for the laundry have a line for “silk shirt”, but the staff immediately forswore the possibility of any cleaning of silk shirts. The timing on laundry required negotiation, and we were able to get the number of days down to close to what was offered on the directions. On our last day, the hotel manager was hosting an evening party. The preparations during the day and party that night blocked our access to the common areas. The bathroom is more spacious than the typical tourist hotel in Italy. A full bath + shower. But no one with any infirmity should try it. The bath is set inside a large base which requires either awkwardly stepping up and down or awkwardly stepping over wet marble to get it. Placement of hand holds is poor and I was always a bit anxious about an accident. It all works out for a tourist hotel. Definitely not a business hotel. If I had business in Naples I’d search out something else.

This is a former villa with rooms in the villa and garden rooms around a pool. The entrance is a non descript driveway gate off of the via Costantinopoli. You walk 50 meters in and around the corner is a little jewel of a hote.
The rooms are comfortable and of a good size. Breakfast is good. The front desk staff is extremely helpful.
Location is smack in the middle of the old city with all its small alleys and bustling street life. Archeological museum is 3 blocks away. Port is about a 20 minute walk as is the train station.

My husband and I and another couple spent three nights here in late May and found it a great choice. First, the location is great. It's a short walk to the Archeaological Museum (a must-see) and about a 20-30 minute stroll down to the waterfront. I'm not sure why others had trouble finding it; all of our cab drivers knew the area and got us there readily. It was helpful to know we had to ring a bell and walk through a courtyard, but that was part of the charm, and the garden and pool area are as advertised on the site and just lovely. It is indeed an oasis in an otherwise noisy and gritty city.

We liked staying in what felt like a local neighborhood -- easy to walk everywhere and perfectly safe, although we did take cabs at night. But there's a small square with a lively college crowd at night and two really excellent casual restaurants within two blocks of the hotel (great pizza and pasta). We were really happy we weren't at tourist central down at the waterfront.

We both had junior suites, which were fine but oddly laid out with a top floor bedroom/bathroom and downstairs "lounge area," which we never used. We did have a small balcony looking into the garden and that was very pleasant. Our friends overlooked the street and didn't like that as much, although said it wasn't noisy. The breakfast was excellent -- lots of choices -- and there was a pleasant sitting area in the garden for a quiet drink right before turning in each night. They had limencello and port, and other libations as well. The service was great and very helpful in arranging whatever you needed.

Naples itself is a unique place and while I'm not sure I'd return, I was glad we visited. We used it as our base for Pompei and Vesuvius, both of where were awesome, but especially Pompei. This is also a must-see; truly incredible and plan to devote 2-3 hours and get a guide! Makes a huge difference. We took the local train to both sites and found that really easy and more fun than getting a private car. And don't think of driving in Naples -- totally crazy!

All in all, we were very pleased with our choice and recommend it highly.

Room Tip: Try to get a room overlooking the internal garden

Getting to the hotel was quite an adventure with our driver going up against the traffic on a busy one-way street (by the second day we learned that it's the norm in Naples!). The location is close to everything, especially to the Archeological Museum which was the purpose of our stay. To get to the hotel itself, you have to go inside a courtyard which is nothing special, and because of it, you're really wowed once you reach the hotel's garden and the hotel itself. The public spaces are classy and elegant, and the free Wi-Fi worked great in rooms and public spaces. The staff treats all guests like VIPs, and the setup is great. Our rooms were top in comfort and in style, with French, floor ro ceilling windows, some had spiral staircases leading to sleeping lofts, others small private balconies. The breakfast was excellent, and I only wish we stayed there for more than one night. I am definetely coming back!

The hotel a former pallazzo , is situated within the UNESCO historic centre and within walking distance everywhere to all the strategic sites . Staff are attentive , the interiors lovely amd beautifully furnished - and despite being in the midst of busy traffic and myriad bars and restaurants, is extremely quiet once you enter its walls and courtyards.

We stayed in a junior suite with a balcony which was great if you are the 2 on the upstairs room but not if you are sleeping on the ground floor where you are exposed to the telephone calls of reception late at night/early morning as well as children running up and down the corridors early one morning. Try and avoid the rooms near the dining area.

Having said that, breakfast was terrific though the coffee was not up to Italian standards.

Try and walk everywhere in Naples - the architecture is magnificent. Or take the metro if you must - forget about buses and taxis [other than to and from the airport] it's much faster to walk .
