We stayed in Naples for 3 days at the start of May. Naples is, depending on your point of view, exciting or scary, quaint or shabby, vibrant or downright noisy! Not recommended if you have small children (you will be scared they are killed by a Vespa) but recommended if you were once a student backpacker who wants a small frisson of excitement in middle age. The hotel reflects Naples - it is a noisy (or vibrant) area, is more quaint than shabby. The staff are pleasant and speak good English. The breakfast is OK. The room we had faced the road and, if you are a light sleeper (which I am not) I expect you could have found relaxation difficult. Our room was a top floor room with outside patio, and this was delightful, I expect even more so in the height of summer when, quite frankly, you would be barking mad to go to Naples. Overall, I think the hotel is OK, if somewhat overpriced. I'm not sure it deserves such a high rating as it has, but everyone takes a different view.
