“Nice neighbourhood!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

Began our Italy trip from Naples. Stayed for 2 nights in May'13. It is in a very nice and safe neighbourhood. Couple of minutes walk to the seafront and about 15-20 minutes walk to all the attractions. Super market and a number of good eateries on the way to historical centre through S.Lucia.

The room and the bathroom were small but clean. Staff is helpful. Breakfast was not very elaborate but adequate. In any case, it takes a while to get used to Italian breakfast for those of us who are used to eggs and other savoury things. In all a good experience and value for the money spent.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013

I stayed there for 6 nights in late July 2013. The hotel is very clean and the staff are extremely helpful, warm and friendly. Someone is always at the front desk, so don't worry if you arrive to Naples late or need help in the middle of the night.
I was on the first floor, which typically can be noisier because of proximity to the street, but the windows to the room are double-paned and block most outside noise. Additionally, in July the air conditioner is a must and provides a bit of white noise over any disturbances from the outside. Nontheless, the core sleeping hours seem to be fairly quiet in Naples, so unless you sleep in quite late or go to bed very early, noise will not likely be a problem.
The breakfasts were very good - cappucinos or espressos made to order, also water, juice and filtered coffee, sfogliattelle, white breat, wheat bread, yogurt, cheese, ham. The only thing they lacked was fresh fruit. Breakfast was served from 7am to 10 am.
The location is very good, not far from the historic center, right on the lungomare, a couple blocks from a safe ATM and close to a cab stand (the front desk will also happily call you a cab, they arrive in about 3 minutes). Also, a couple blocks behind the hotel on Via Santa Lucia, there are some grocery stores where you can buy water, beer, food, toiletries, etc. at normal prices.
I was very comfortable in my room. I am average height and build, if you are very large the shower will likely feel tight. It is certainly much tighter than the average North American shower stall, but I didn't think about it much while I was there.
Overall, I liked the accommodations, the location and the friendly and helpful staff. I also liked that Hotel Rex was not a mega hotel, it felt just personal enough, while still feeling professionally managed. I would definitely recommend this hotel and, I almost forgot to mention, the price was very good. If you want the mega hotel, or need a restaurant (you shouldn't - there are hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of very good eateries all over Naples) or a pool, you might check another location, but for those who want a comfortable home base to explore Naples, Hotel Rex is hard to beat.

I stayed 5 nights in July. The room has air-condition, bathroom (w/o bath tab), free-WiFi, mini-bar (refrigerator). Pictures on the wall is cool! The breakfast is also good, and we can start active day. Location is also good; not far from the Alibus bus stop from air port.

Stayed there with my wife 3 nights in july 2013, the room was small but very clean and looked good. We had the cheapest room on ground level, but it did not matter, it's nice and quiet.
Our baggage got lost in Berlin, the receptionist helped us contact the Naples airport and was very nice and helpfull.
The breakfast was excelent ( not much but everything was good) with a really happy guy serving us espresso every morning, loved it.
The location is really good in a safe neighborhood right next to the boardwalk with lots of bars and restaurants. About 15 min walk to the old town, could not be more pleased with the location.

All in all, a very nice stay

Hotel was clean and well situated the staff very helpful with everything we asked. Onlly downside was lack of gluten free bread and fruit for breakfast, leaving me with very little to choose from. The Ham was delicious though. The airconditioner intermttently switches to a loud vibrating noise and can wake you. Good restaurants nearby and bus very closeby for easy movement around Naples.

A really gem in Santa Lucia - one of the best neighborhoods in the city. Wonderful design (the place really is beautiful!), nice and helpful staff, good breakfast. Also a great location - half a block from the waterfront, a short walk to most of the main attractions. Parking is a challenge, but hotel was helpful in arranging nearby parking in a secure garage for 20 euros per night. Overall, would definitely go back!

We had three lovely nights in this Hotel Myself , daughter aged 19 and son aged 16 in a triple room. The room was lovely and spacious and very clean. The location is wonderful out of the door to the right and you are right at the Waterfront with a wonderful view of Vesuvius The hotel is clean, modern and air conditioned, the staff are lovely and very helpful and pleasant. There are lovely places to eat close by and a nice little area to sit and have a drink/snack on the waterfront to watch the world go by or watch the Cruise Liners gliding out of Naples. The Hotel room was serviced daily and clean towels provided. Breakfast was prompt and plentiful with tea, coffee, water, juices, yoghurts, cereals, croissants, meats , cakes and toast etc served buffet style. We had a lovely stay and would go back again and again and again..... Can't speak highly enough ....
