It's like the famous Muppet Show talk between Waldorf and Statler:
Statler: "We got our money's worth tonight" ... Waldorf: "But we paid nothing!" . Statler: "that's what we got!" .
The hotel is located in the very heart of Napoli, and offers very basic services for a really low price. So you know what to expect. For us it worked for one night.

Our family of five had a lovely stay here in the first week of August, in a five-bed room (one double, three singles), with en-suite. We were given room 50, at the end of the corridor on the first floor. This was great for us - no through "traffic" noise from the corridor, and we had the added bonus of an outdoor patio area, which was great for us once the kids were asleep. We could also pick up the hotel free Wi-Fi signal from it. The room air-con worked a treat. The bathroom wasn't enormous and showed signs of aging, but the cheerful cleaning staff had done their best to clean what they could.

The breakfast was served in the basement, and for the price, we couldn't fault it. We always found there to be more than enough cooked breakfast and warm croissants available.

There's a nice little bar, reasonably priced, too. The "reading room" is pleasant enough and we all hung out there at times, using the free Wi-Fi. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant.

The location is city-centre, and so you shouldn't be surprised to find yourself situated in a busy city-centre. It's great for catching buses and trains. Can't see why people complain about this on Trip Advisor, but then we didn't have a room at the front of the building.

Whilst it wasn't up-market, I can't say I was mis-lead from the website, and so, hey, you get what you pay for. We would be more than happy to stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the end of the corridor on the first floor.

The Hotel Ideal is right next to a large building site, as they are building a new Metro station. This is not on the booking sites and people need to be aware before booking, as it is noisy from about 6.30am on, to say nothing of unsightly! Apart from this, hotel staff were helpful and eager to advise how to get to the various tourist sites. Hotel near to many restaurants, and central for train and tram.

This is a hotel that is at a very nice Location. It is very near to Naples Central Station which is a big advantage. It is easy to find .

We arrived at the hotel at 11:30 am. Our booking mentioned that the hotel check in time is 12:30 PM so we were prepared to relax for 1 hour and then take our room.
Once we reached the hotel, there was a nice lady who greeted us warmly. She seemed to understand English nicely. But we were told that our rooms will not be ready till aftenoon 2:00 PM . I asked her that on the booking it was mentioned that the check in time is 12:30 PM but she said that the room cannot be ready before 2:30.
So we planned to keep our luggage at the hotel and head out on our excursion in Naples and around.
When we returned back in the evening , we were given our room keys and we headed to our room.
The rooms seem to be situated in a maze on the first floor. The ambience of the hotel is nice with a bar on the first floor as well but you need to keep on walking around the maze until you find your room.

The room was a nice double bed room. We had asked for an AC room. There was a nice ambience in the room.
The AC of the room did not have a remote control but was operated from switch on the wall which we figured out after a search in the room.
The AC did not work properly and did not cool the room. Since it was night and we were tired , we thought to complain about it at the reception the next day.
So , we planned to sleep with the Windows Open (that was a bad decision). The night was tormented with Mosquito bites.

The breakfast was served in the hotel itself and was quite ordinary. The breakfast location was in the basement and was quite a congested area. So the ambience there was not good at all.

Next day morning I asked the person at the reception to provide us a remote control for the AC as it was not cooling but he said that it has to be operated from the switch and can be put on and there is no remote control for the same.

Since we were in a rush to go and travel so we headed out after discussion with him.
In the evening when we returned , i complained the lady again about the AC , but she humbly replied that it was a Sunday and so no one would be there to check and could only be checked next day.
So , we had to spend our last night in the hotel without AC as well and with Mosquitoes and the noise coming from the street.

My friend and I booked a twin room with ensuite here and were delighted with our stay. We nicknamed our room 'the Princess Room' because of how prettily it had been decorated and the beautiful lighting. We were on the second floor (the top floor) and it was certainly a hike getting to our room with our big suitcases as there wasn't a lift, but it was worth the effort. Our room was rather small but it was so delightful that we didn't care!

The only thing I would say is that the breakfast (included in the price in our case) was very basic. The little pieces of white bread they used were completely dry (which was surprising as Italy is renowned for its delicious bread, and we were not disappointed everywhere else) and the fruit salad they offered was clearly out of a tin, certainly not fresh. On one morning they offered pain au chocolats and croissants which were nice.

Some people have complained about the location but I actually really liked it. It's certainly the rougher end of Naples but we were in the middle of city life, near lots of great attractions if you're willing to do some research, and literally a few seconds from the train station, where you can get the underground to different parts of Naples as well as the trains to Pompeii and Herculaneum.

We got our rooms very cheaply as we booked online and well in advance, so I'd say we got excellent value for money. A very pleasant stay! :)

Hotel Ideal is located very close to the train station, and that was a plus, there are also some good restaurants nearby that make this neibourhood interesting. The hotel had a restaurant / bar that was very convenient and cheap, the Wifi room was nice and cosy and our room spacious enough and clean. The Staff at the reception were great and helpful they were the best thing about this hotel. The breaskfast was a little bit poor but served from 07h00.
