The Galleria Umbero I is an architectural delight from the 1880s. Located near other major Naples attractions, it is well worth the visit; and your eye will never stop absorbing all the intricate details of the archway moldings, glass ceilings, and beautiful marble floors and walls. However, the stores within the galleria are nothing special, and the cafes are even worse. I was determined to dine inside such an architectural wonder, but the cafes actually made me lose my appetite. That was a disappointment. So don’t visit the galleria for food and shopping, just for a feast of the eye. You won’t be disappointed in that regard.
