The Galleria Umbero I is an architectural delight from the 1880s. Located near other major Naples attractions, it is well worth the visit; and your eye will never stop absorbing all the intricate details of the archway moldings, glass ceilings, and beautiful marble floors and walls. However, the stores within the galleria are nothing special, and the cafes are even worse. I was determined to dine inside such an architectural wonder, but the cafes actually made me lose my appetite. That was a disappointment. So don’t visit the galleria for food and shopping, just for a feast of the eye. You won’t be disappointed in that regard.

The architecture is nice, being amongst the newest complexes in downtown Naples. There are interesting things about it, such as some former buildings left standing and enclosed in its facade.

Beautiful architecture but shopping was nothing special. Some mornings during quiet times it was full of street vendors peddling their rubbish and knock off bags. Once dropped all his wares in the street in front of the police who made a lazy attempt at confiscating some of his bags, but then let him walk up into the Galleria to warn the others to make off. Not that they needed to, as the police really didn't seem to put any effort into stopping it!

It is a mall inside of a very beautiful building. There are stores, restaurants, cafes, and pastisseries. The shops are nothing special, the building itself is the sight. The floors are beautiful marble and mosaic and the glass-domed ceiling rises 200 feet over the floor. The architecture is fantastic. Great for pictures.

The Galleria is basically a super-smart shopping mall - but a very old, very grand opulent mall! It's spectacular with its marbles and granites, statues and carvings and the most beautiful glass roof. The shops inside aren't so special unfortunately - they're much as you'd see elsewhere in Naples, but the building itself is a tourist sight in its own right - and it is free to go in!
