If you like walking this is a great location as you will need to walk up and down some to get to the nearest Metro. There is a 'short cut' to the metro but it was closed in August, unlucky us. on the positive side we did set records for our steps on Fitbit.

If you are lucky enough to get a sea view, the views are spectacular.

Our room wasn't clean. Hairs in bath. The floor hadn't been swept. Dust on many objects in the room. We accept that the hotel wasn't expensive (hence the value rating) but the standard of cleaning was below par which is not acceptable at any price. Bed comfortable. Air conditioning and hot water worked perfectly.

Breakfast was average. Same limited choice every day but bearable. The breakfast salon could be described as having 'character' if you have imagination. Were those spots of blood on the wallpaper? Some mafia shootout?

Staff were polite and friendly although a bit jaded like the hotel. You felt the glory days had passed...maybe...forty years ago.

In short, if you don't mind walking and just need the minimum at a reasonable price - this will do. If you want the hotel to contribute positively to your trip then maybe there are better options.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the coast for a great view.

The Britannique is well located, a 10 minute walk from the Metro and close to both local shops and the more upmarket areas of the city. Our room was small and quite basic, but clean and functional. If you can, get a room with a view of the Bay of Naples.

Breakfast was a basic continental type.

The hotel service was extremely warm and friendly. The only area where we would mark the hotel down would be that it looks dated, and could do with some modernising, but for what we paid, we were extremely happy.

Have just spent 10 days here with my partner for a friends wedding. The hotel is absolutely charming and the staff are very friendly and professional. They even managed to get both of our suits fully laundered and pressed in the late afternoon before the wedding the next morning.
The rooms are a little dated, but it is completely in keeping with the period of the hotel. Everything is fully functional. The wifi signal isn't great but is fully functional - we managed to stream netflix fine on the fourth floor.
The sea view rooms are a must - the view of the bay of naples and mount vesuvius in the morning is amazing!
There is a taxi rank outside the hotel, a couple of shops for snacks etc close by and the ramp/steps down to the metro and coast area are across the road. The steps are steep, but this is Naples - it's on a hill so unless you want to pay for taxis everywhere, you'll find the steps very usefull!
All in all, a great choice of hotel at a bargain price.

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff, can speak basic english so helpful if your not fluent with italian. We stayed for 10 days. Hotel is dated but adds to the charm of Naples, room immaculately clean and fresh bedding and towels daily. Breakfast good although basic (no hot options) nether the less tasty with plenty of choice. The hotel is only a short walk to the sea front for the bars restaurants and castle. Also ideally located near a metro station for easy access to the central station for trips to Rome. Taxi rank just outside grand parkers so always a taxi available. There is also a lovely roof terrace on the 5th floor a great sun trap although we only realised this was there a couple of days before going home. Overall great choice of a hotel and a bargin for the price. Defintley recommend spending a couple of quid extra and getting a sea view room.

This hotel offers spacious comfortable rooms and has polite and helpful staff. I spent one night in a standard land-facing room and six in one of the double superior rooms: the first was very good (complete with minibar, a choice between bathtub and shower and more space than is usual in a standard room) and the second was excellent. I had a sea view room on the fourth floor and the vista from my balcony can only be described as breathtaking!
The beds were comfortable and both rooms featured aircon; occasionally this went off at night, but a quick call to reception remedied the problem. Being a late riser I didn't get to sample breakfast, but I did call into the breakfast service area once, and everything looked very appetizing. Both rooms were spotlessly clean and the cleaning staff helpful and friendly.
The hotel is in a quiet area with (did I mention this?!?) inspiring views over the bay. Obviously, to gain that oerspective, you do need to go up a hill, but if you're not driving and don't feel energetic, there are buses. If you're using public transoort, take Metro line 2 to Piazza Amadeo, then turn left as you leave the station and take the C27 bus from the bottom of the hill, getting off at the fifth or sixth stop.
All in all, a lovely hotel in a beautiful place.....GO!!
