We stayed 4 nights in mid-October. Yes, B&B Augusteo is in a busy, narrow street in the Spanish Quarter, but the street is lit up at night, with locals out shopping, walking, talking. We never felt any sense of uncomfortableness - on the contrary, enjoyed the liveliness. The location is excellent for seeing the major sights, as well as having great local restaurants within a few minutes' walk. Thanks to solid insulation, the noise from the street was shut out. The air conditioning worked very well, and was very quiet. The room was as described in other reviews - very large, very clean, with a modern bathroom. The small table with plates and cups for breakfast was very handy. Yes, breakfast consists mainly of pre-packaged croissants, etc. However - when I asked where I could get yoghurt in the morning, Loredana made sure I had it, even getting the kind I like the next morning. When she noticed that we liked cereal, she made sure to provide it. Coffee was very tasty - and as much as we wanted (also hot milk). The free use of the computer was much appreciated. Service, friendliness, helpfulness were exceptional, including help with luggage, calling the taxi (and negotiating the price!), providing the coins (10 cents) for the elevator. Yes, the building is old, the elevator small, but the quality of the accommodation overall and the great service resulted in a very comfortable, enjoyable stay. Thank you, Loredana and David (and Ciro, too) for a great stay. We will be sure to be back! John

B&B Augusteo is a first floor apartment with a reception area and three rooms. We stayed for five nights in Room 3. There is also a small reception area which is staffed only intermittently and a computer with internet access which is available, without charge, for use by guests. Our room was large, furnished in a modern style and had dual aspect windows. The large double bed was the most comfortable that we encountered on our Italian trip. There are internal solid wooden shutters to the windows however some traffic noise, mainly from the huge number of motor scooters in the city, did still penetrate. That said, we slept well. Our only complaints would be that the water heater was set only to deliver tepid, rather than hot, water and about the breakfast which consisted of long-life, pre-packed croissants and crackers, jam and fruit juice. The poor hot drinks often did not arrive at the requested time (reading the website after our return home, yoghurt, honey and seasonal fruit are also promised) . However, there were plenty of cafés nearby where a better breakfast could be obtained and the price paid for the accommodation represented good value for money even with the breakfast discounted. B&B Augusteo is also well situated for shops, restaurants and buses but we found few bars nearby so those seeking some nightlife may have to explore a little.

This hotel is located in an apartment block in a busy street, but it really is a sort of haven from the hoards of people. Very, very clean, large rooms and exceptionally friendly staff make this a perfect place to base yourself in the city. Prices are pretty good too.

Other reviews were not too hot on the breakfast, which is very simple. However with Piazza Trieste literally 5 mins walk you are better off heading out for the real Italian coffee experience anyway!

Highly recommended:-)

Naples may be busy and dirty, but it isn't scary. Hotel Augusteo is handily located between the historic, old centre and the Piazza Municipio, probably about 2 ks from the Central train station (interesting walk or 1.20 euro bus ride). Lady very smiley and welcoming, son speaks good English. Room was good sized and clean. The ubiquitous Italian scooters screamed and hooted at times along the narrow street below, but double glazing basically eliminated the noise. Breakfast could be better, only packaged stuff, though the fresh morning coffee is a nice touch. Free internet too. Definitely recommended.

The location of the b&b was perfect, a few minutes walk from everywhere we wanted to go to, including the port. The area is great, i never felt unsafe and it was exactly how i imagined Napoli to be, with those going-up-the-hill, narrows streets, little shops and scooters everywhere (you can't hear them from the room on the 3 rd floor with the window closed)
The room was very big and clean, big bathroom and good wifi connexion. The lady was also friendly and helpful (they kept our bag for the day at the end of the stay) even though she couldn't speak english. We could also pay by card without a problem.
The only downside, as people have mentionned, was the breakfast served in a room and consisting of pre-packaged stuff (biscuits, filled croissants, biscotti) that were really not very good... The cappucino was also quite bad, the only bad coffee we had in Italy actually. But this is not a big deal really and we had a fridge in the room to store more stuff if we wanted. I would def go back there if i was to go back to Naples!

Stayed there for 2 nights. When we arrived by a taxi, we were quite afraid of the location, smell, dirt and noise of the street B&B was located at, but inside of appartment it feel like in another world. The sympathetic young guy at the reception spoke very good english, room was huge and spacious with funky decoration, TV, AC, fridge and the table layed for breakfast. There was a door leading to a small balcony but didn't feel safe out there at the evening to be honest.
On the hall there was computer with printer free to use and of course wifi connection.
However despite of the street location it was actualy just a couple of minutes of walking to the centre leading to port etc.
All in all we felt very comfortable in our room and had a great stay.

Lovely little B&B in the heart of Naples, just 30 metres off the main shopping street. Beautifully decorated large room and bathroom which were immaculately kept. The bathroom was modern and included a bidet. Breakfast was served in the room and milk and coffee were ordered the night before. The landlady was extremely helpful, despite the fact that her English was as limited as our Italian. Would stay here again and highly recommend it.
