“Great find in Naples”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2012

This B&B comprises one floor in an appartment building. We had a Quad room and the rooms were a very good size, clean, neat and comfortable. The B&B is located just off Toledo steet, a large shopping street with many restaurants near by. Try the restaurant Osterio Toledo, quite close to the hotel and the food was excellent and at a good price - a piece of salmond for 8 euro.
The B&B was in a good location, close to the bay of Naples and was a 15 minute walk to central naples.
The only down side of the B&B was the breakfast, which was prepackaged cresants, buscuits, orange juice, coffee & water. Also be aware that the reception is located on another floor & the lady at reception does not speak a word of english, but dont let this deter you, we managed quite comfortably.
All in all this was a great B&B in a very good location.

We stayed at the B&B Augusteo last week and found it perfect. The room was squeaky clean and we were provided with tea or coffee every morning. Breakfast consists of muffins and biscuits but there are plenty of places close by if you want a more substantial start to the day. The location was spot on with the Augusteo funicular very close by which connects you to the underground network. The boats out the the islands (Capri and Ischia) are within walking distance and everything is right on the doorstep. We also found a great, family run tratoria called Capri a few doors along and it is well worth a visit (or several in our case!!).

some of the biggest rooms we stayed in Italy. Bright, clean, decor is fun. staff was kind, helpful and knowledgable. Nice to have computer available, big plus since we did not carry laptop Breakfast was good, a little heavy on sewwts and packaged pastry, but the coffee was great and hostess made as much as we wanted. Was surprised to see frig and stove top, good for longer stays.

Hi,
With my mother we spent 7 night in this lovely B&B.
The location, the room size, the price and cleanliness is PERFECT!
The vicinity is totally safe, and quite clean compare to the rest of Naples.
The public transport is ok, however there is no underground station nearby, but the funicular right at the house is a real fun.
The service at the reception is in limited hours only, but everyone were very helpful.
The brakfast was way under our expectation, but they tried to provide the best ( extra juice and cakes). We were informed that this kind of selection is the rule by the goverment in this category accomodation.
But in nearby local minimarkets I could buy fresh items.
Dont miss the buffalo mozarella ( the best of a lifetime)
The ferry to Capri is 5 minutes walk. Definetly worth a full day visit.
All together we were very satisfied, and choose Augusteo anytime in the future.
Good vacation to everyone :)

Our one week stay at the b&b was OK. We went with our 20 mth old toddler. I would recommend it to couples or single travellers but it is not suitable for families with young children. However, a travelling cot complete with linen was provided free of charge for our child.

The rooms are either on the first floor or the third floor. The room we got was on the third floor. There is a lift but can only fit in 2 people at the time and thats a squeeze at best!

The breakfast is pre packed croissant and few other bits in a basket in the room. The refills on the days varied with not everything being refilled every day. There was also juice in the fridge. Tea and coffee was the only thing served fresh.

We were also asked for some reason to pay in cash so had to spend a lot of time checking for cash machines! So beware, they dont really accept cards! In typical Naples fashion they advertise that they accept cards but don't and say the machine is caput!

There is no one manning the desk at reception most of the time and be prepared to get only one set of keys, which can be awkward at times if someone is wishes to stay out. Although the owners provide their mobile numbers and are only a phone call away but you have to have either an Italian mobile with you or be prepared to pay hefty roaming charges!

On the upside it was a very central location close to bus and taxi stops and the historic city centre. You can easily walk everywhere and the Galleria Umberto is practically at its door step along with a funicular railway stop. Although the line the funicular rail serves is of limited use to a tourist.

The air conditioning was good with plenty of hot water. The owners/staff (Hugo and Allesio) are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained with a comfortable en suite toilet (at least in our room) with all mod cons. There was also a kitchenette in our room but we didnt use it. The bed is comfortable with nice quality mattresses so you will get a good sleep. There is plenty of storage too and the photographs provided are a true representation of the rooms.

Dont be put off by its proximity to the Spanish Quarter, which can be gritty but is not unsafe, in fact it has a nice collection of trattorias one or two which are real gems! You can eat a meal fit for a King including drinks, fruit and lemoncello for a princely sum of 13-14 euros!

Therefore in a nutshell, its great for friends, couples, singles, young travellers and business travellers for a 1-2 night stay but not for a family holiday. You will get good rest and respite from the summer heat but its not a relaxing haven if you intend to stay for a longer duration. But then dont forget you are merely paying 59 euros a night for a double room so you cant really ask for more. Augusteo does huge justice to the tariff charged.

We have tried to make this review as detailed and balanced as we can so it really helps people to know what they are getting.

Room Tip: Third floor rooms are ensuite and better!

I was in Naples with my family for 1 week. Our holiday in B&B Augusteo was been very confortable. there was the kitcken in the room and I cooked italian pasta. The room was very large e nice. The location is the best, only 3 minutes by plebiscito square. We visited the town on foot. I have not found anything negative. Everything perfect, room, location and staff very kind!!! I love Naples
