This is a small charming hotel with an old European feel.. The hotel and rooms are beautifully appointed. A lobby is replaced with comfortable living rooms that are very tastefully decorated. At the end of the day aperitifs are served in the living room by Pascule an engaging staff member aimed to please. Knowing we had gone out in the rain to shop, Pascule set up a surprise tea for us on our return. Needless to say we were very touched by his thoughtfulness. Breakfast was served on the inviting third floor terrace over looking the Bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius. The historic area was in easy walking distance as well as a selection of good restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a lovely treat to stay in this welcoming hotel!

Room Tip: Rooms 5 or 11

What a gem! Wonderful location on Naples Bay within easy walking to shopping and the historic district. The staff genuinely friendly, with Pasquale (a hotel personal assistant) offering warm tea or aperitifs after a long day. Cozy sitting rooms - comfy beds and wonderful views...I personally recommend Rooms 5 or 111 ...large and comfortable corner rooms with all amenities. A Home Away from Home ... 3 blocks to the north of the entrance, Il Posto Accanto restaurant has yummy southern Italian meals, served with warm and genuine Napolitan hospitality (another great secret) .. Don't hesitate...book your room now for the most pleasant of stays in wonderful NAPOLI...(p.s....don't believe the hype...Naples has amazing Greek, Roman and Italian history...great shopping... Amazing views and friendly faces...Crime? Like all large cities (but no more) Don't miss out !! A wonderful vacation with wonderful people!

Room Tip: Corner rooms larger and more open..some with balconies..... all rooms safe and comfy..all high ceili...

Breakfast was just wonderful with so many options. It was served at the roof top terrace and at ground floor when there was bad weather.
The views of Vesuvio from the lobby, roof top terrace or from room balcony were fantastic.
Room was clean and comfortable despite a bit small and outdated. The bed had many pillows. Staff was very friendly and the owner was always around.
Location is spetacular with numerous turistic attractions very close: Piazza del Plebiscito (500 m), Castel dell´Ovo (700 m), Galleria Umberto I (750 m), PIzzeria Brandi (750 m) and Castel Nuovo (900 m).

We stayed at this hotel for four days touring Naples, Pompeii and Herculaneum.. Location
is excellent: on the waterfront, 15 minutes walk from the ferry port and Alibus (airport
bus), 45 minutes walk from the Circumversuviana (or 10 minutes by the modern trolley
from the ferry port) and a short walk to Via Toledo. While the street in front of the hotel
is open to traffic, it is relatively light, since the far end is pedestrian only. A small
supermarket, a wine shop (try the local wines from Campania and Puglia) and a bancomat
are two blocks behind the hotel. There are many restaurants within walking distance (our
favorite: Antica Latteria near Piazza dei Martiri.)

The hotel is an old mansion with high ceilings and rooms arranged around a central
stairway and elevator. Our front, seaview room had sweeping views from Vesuvius to
Castel dell’Ovo from doors opening onto small balconies. There is a roof top terrace.
Exterior doors and windows have double panes for noise control. Our bathroom was
large for an in-city hotel, with double sinks, plenty of counter space and a whirlpool tub/
shower. Everything was clean. The hotel is decorated in period style: wallpaper, carpeting
and drapes. While someone expecting the spare Italian modern style of many hotels might
consider the decor dated, it seemed well suited to this historic building. You will be
greeted by the hotel’s two dogs.

Breakfast, served on the roof terrace, was the best in our two weeks in Southern Italy:
sliced blood oranges and kiwis, two types of ham, two types of cheese (Asiago Dolce is
delicious), an egg dish or two, cakes, local pastries, cereal, yogurt. and of course excellent
coffee. All in all, an excellent hotel in an excellent location.

Get the 3 day Campania Artcard that includes transportation: it’s convenient and less
expensive than individual admissions.

This family run hotel is about as perfectly located as you could want. Featuring a front seat view of Vesuvius and the bay it is also just a short walk from all that is best in Napoli. It's located at the beginning of the pedestrian walk that leads into Via Partenope and down to Castel Del' Ovo with a number of good sea food establishments. It's then equi distant to the Piazza Plebiscito and Via San Carlo as well as the ferry wharfs for Ischia, Capri and so on. We spent three nights here and although the description 'family run' might suggest something that is maybe a little kitch or lower than first class, personally I would say the complete opposite is true. What is has is the touch of an old school hotelier who knows his stuff. On our first night he was there to offer prosecco from the bar and made us feel at home in the lounge. Breakfast is served on the rooftop with another perspective on the Bay and Vesuvius. The service is friendly and incredibly personable. The coffee is top class Italian. Our room way spacious and decorated with taste. There is a very subtle feel of what many might call 'faded glory' but to my eye that is part of its charm. I've read a damning review of this hotel so obviously it's not for everyone but I suspect the bad reviewer had both bad luck and would maybe prefer a Best Western. Clearly not for everyone but where is?

Room Tip: I haven't seen all the rooms but we were at the front which is where I would always ask to be. E...

I stayed here for a week in December/January. This hotel is in perfect location, across the road from the magnificent Bay of Naples, walking distance to good restaurants and great attractions like Spanish Quarter, Historic Centre. The building is over 100 years old and has loads of character. Breakfast on the terrace, with the views of the Bay of Naples and Mt Vesuvius, was unforettable.

If you're after the big razzle dazzle hotel chain experience then this place is not for you. Miramare is family run, in fact the owner was often in the foyer in the evenings, ready to offer a glass of bubbly to us and enquiring about our day and if the hotel was meeting our expectations. We were there for New Year's Eve and all guests were given a free bottle of sparkling wine. Would that ever happen at a large hotel chain? I don't think so.

The staff were amazing and really went out of their way to help us, particularly Gerardo and Joseph on the reception - nothing was too much trouble and they were always smiling and friendly.

The neighbourhood is very nice - traffic in front of the hotel is limited to taxis and buses making it very quiet and good for walking along the sea front. The rooms were clean and individually furnished, making it a welcome change from the boring chain hotels that all look the same.

We had a wonderful stay at Miramare and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Room Tip: For a small extra charge, ask for a sea front room with a balcony.
