This hotel is severely overpriced and severly outdated! The only reasons I gave it poor and not terrible were its location and the friendly owner. The view was nice, but Naples should not be a destination for vacation. The city is a decent one night stop, especially if you have been traveling for several hours and need to rest and/or adjust to the time zone. There are no good beaches, the city is dirty, and dangerous. We did find some great places to eat, but that being said, there are many better options. Back to the hotel, the owner was friendly and did give us some good sightseeing tips, too bad it was too hot and dangerous to explore the city. When we limped back to the hotel after nearly having heat stroke, the room was also super hot. We had to ask them to turn on the a/c (even though the unit was on full blast). The staff was not surprised, after reading other reviews, it was clear. They turn the air off whenever the want to save money. My wife and I also woke up at 4:30 am sweating. Again, we had to call them to turn the air on again. We payed more for this location than the beautiful Excelsior on the next block. Spend a few minutes researching the area, there are several other, much nicer, options for the same or less cost.

Room Tip: Get an ocean room, and don't hesitate to call the front desk if your room's a/c seems to not...

My husband and I planned to stay 5 nights in Positano for our anniversary, but we mistakenly booked the Miramare Hotel in Naples (instead of the Miramare Hotel in Positano, which is what we meant to book). We did not realize our mistake until the driver pulled up to the Naples Miramare. Although our reservation was nonrefundable, the owner of the Naples hotel was very kind and agreed to refund 4 nights of our stay. He even called the Positano hotel (no relationship between the hotels) and booked us a room for the 4 remaining nights, and at a discount.

So we stayed 1 night at this hotel in Naples. We had one of the bigger rooms, with a gorgeous sea view. Room was clean and comfortable. But more importantly, I will never forget the kindness of the owner and the staff!! They were very attentive and genuinely cared about making our one (unplanned) night in Naples pleasant and memorable before we left for Positano.

How the hell did this hotel get such a good rating?
We were disgusted with almost everything. The room not very clean and small.TV difficult to use.
Breakfast poor.
Most of all we disliked very much that the airco was turned of at night.Complaining did not help.
So for us there was just one solution: leave one day earlier then we had planned even if we had paid already for three nights.
What a deception to see they treat tourists like that.
Hotel Miremare and Napels: never again.

In this hotel the first impression was not good. The door, the stairs didn't give a good impression, but then the surprise: a reception in a very fancy and elegant stile.
All the forniture ancient and very beautiful. The room confortable , the bathroom very spacious and elegant.
very awesome surprise is the breakfast, served in a 3th floor terrace, in front of the sea.
The most difficult thing in the hotel is leaving that terrace and start visiting town!!
people nice and attentive.

Stayed here in July 2010. Arrived in Naples without having booked a hotel (not sure why anymore) and had the good chance of walking into this hotel first. Was then and still am now two years on taken by the great experience. Sure, did not have any expectations. But in general expect quite a lot. And this place with its lovely roof-top breakfast, great views, and cosy, helpful atmosphere just did the trick. Would love to go back.

From our Blue deluxe room we had a FANTASTIC view over the glittering sea towards Vesuvius during a Spring weekend !The bed was really comfortable with many cushions and good quality linen, unlike usually in Italy !!Everything was clean, fresh and functioning in our spacoius room.Breakfast was just like what we enjoy, fruits, omellettes, cheeses, cakes ect. Unfortunately we did not have the opportunity to have breakfast on the upper terrace.
The location by the sea was just great. There were many Restaurants
by the street boulevard within walking distance. Fresh air, colourful Marina and safe walking in the evening !Nothing to complain ! We just loved it as we also had sunshine every day !
