Grand Hotel Parker's
Ranked #27 of 185 Hotels in Naples
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed March 27, 2014

It was our first visit to Naples and the hotel was recommended by the concierge service of our credit card. It was the perfect base to discover the area and visit the sites before retreating at the end of the day to the comforting facilities and friendly staff. It is rare to find a hotel that offers such a relaxing environment in all the spaces. We had the misfortune to be the victims of a pickpocket when walking to The National Archaeological Museum from the train station. The area is very poor and rundown with people living on the streets so we would advise a taxi next time. The staff were genuinely upset and very kind after our upsetting experience. However, after a bottle of the wonderful local Falanghina white wine in the rooftop bar we felt much happier!
The Grand Hotel Parker's is a special place.....

One of the best hotel I have ever known. People are friendly, they speak all languages, and can (and do) help and advise, whatever you ask. The magnificient 360° view from the sixth floor is a pleasure for the eyes, especially while enjoying a superb breakfast. Try the sfogliatelle, typical home made cakes, they are wonderful.
The only thing they could add is a shuttle bus to take guests into town and back, at least twice a day.
Naples is a superb city and the Grand Hotel Parker's is one of its jewels.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, choose a room with a sea view, and if at the back, ask for a room on a high...

Good afternoon from Grand Hotel Parker’s, thank you for your “amazing” compliment.
We are proud to read your beautiful word regarding our Hotel and professionalism.

This hotel has a killer view of the city and coast, especially from the 6th floor restaurant and bar. Old school, with lots of marble and wood floors. I had a very pleasant stay and some nice food at the restaurant. I would stay here again, although on the quieter back side of the hotel.

Room Tip: If you're a light sleeper, ask for a quiet room in the back of the hotel. The front, with a view...

Dear Aloysius8,
Thank you for your kind e-mail and great words regarding our beautiful property.
In fact Grand Hotel Parker’s is the most ancient Hotel in the City, he represents the Bourgeoisie of Naples, located in an upper class district, with an amazing view overlooking the Bay, in front of Capri Island in a very quiet and residential quarter.
We really hope to greet you again in Naples.
Our Warmest Regards.

Just got back from three nights in Naples at this wonderful hotel. Check in was quick and the staff were very friendly. We were upgraded to a deluxe sea view room on the third floor and the view of the bay and Naples takes your breath away. The room itself was a good size as was the bathroom. There was also plenty of wardrobe space and a digital room safe.

A nice surprise was the free Wi-Fi. Most small hotels, guest houses etc, you expect this but most of the large chains still charge (which is a disgrace). So well done to GHP!

The bed was huge but a little hard for me, but that's just me. No complaints from my wife.

The only slight negative was that we found the AC too noisy and not very effective, so we opened the balcony window at night. The noise from the road below meant we had disturbed sleep on all three nights.

Breakfast on the 6th floor overlooking the city and bay was a delight. So much choice and all of it of the highest quality.

Because we were so tired in the evenings we ate in the restaurant every night (same venue as breakfast). The menu was varied and, as you'd expect, the food was of a very good quality. Some choices were too expensive for out tastes but we still eat very well. Another plus is that you can get several wines for well under €30.00 a bottle. You can pay a fortune if you like, but that's your choice. The waiting staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Away from the hotel, a couple of tips: First beware of the Taxi drivers because some of them are nothing short of thieves! The driver who took us from the airport to the hotel tried to charge us €55.00! We challenged this of course and he soon went down to €35.00 which was still a rip off. The staff organised it for us on the way back to the airport and the charge was only €23.00 - My advice is that if you have this problem outside the hotel just go in and ask the staff to speak to the driver. This works apparently.

Secondly, we looked at some tours as we wanted to see Sorrento and also Pompeii. They all seemed very crammed to us and also very expensive. So we did it ourselves. The first day we went by train to Sorrento and caught the ferry back to Naples. The second day we went by train to Pompeii and spent the whole day there, such was its vastness and magnificence. Quite how tour firms can offer the Amalfi coastline, plus Pompeii all in a day is a mystery to me.

Room Tip: Try and get a sea room view - the view is spectacular.

Dear TL13,
Greetings from sunny Naples, thank you for taking your time to write few words about your great experience at the Grand Hotel Parker’s.
We really appreciated your compliments regarding our 5 stars services, and we will forward your concern regarding the air conditioning, but again we already know about it, and we are working on it since many months, but it’s not an easy work as we are an historic building… The oldest Hotel in Naples.
We are pleased to read your suggestions for the next travelers in the City… As you know our Concierge are the best persons to give information to visit the best and hidden places in Naples.

Stayed here with 5 friends last week to see the Swans playing Napoli. Only disappointing part of the trip was the result of the match, not the hotel, which was as good as the reviews here make out. Special mention to Franco in the top floor bar area who made out stay a great one by being always on hand to keep the beers going in the evening and the cappuccinos in the morning.

Views from the bar area are stunning over the Bay and what a place to start the day. Also, the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds were so comfortable and when I emailed to add an extra friend to our trip, the hotel came up with a junior style suite to accommodate 3 of us (when we were only expecting a put-me-up-bed).

Stay here if you're going to stay in Naples and you wont be disappointed.

This was my fourth trip to Naples and each time I stay at this beautiful hotel. One year I took my mother and her two cousins on a tour of Italy and we all spent 3 nights at the Grand Hotel Parker.
There are so many good things to say, where to start? High on the list is comfort and safety.
First the staff are the best I have encountered anywhere and I travel a lot and love to stay in hotels. They are true professionals. There was a taxi strike but they found me drivers of excellent quality. They responded with enthusiasm to all my questions.
They are helpful and respectful and have a sense of humor.
The convenience of the location, the magical views of the bay and Vesuvius, the elegance of the decor in all the rooms and the lobby and the beautiful rooftop restaurant are a major advantage of this hotel. This is a high quality hotel that pays attention to detail. The food was excellent especially the fish dishes and they have a good wine list. The rooftop also has a wonderful piano bar although no playing while I was there but I did love it in the morning to read the newspapers in a luxurious chair after succumbing to the delights of the breakfast buffet.
At night I would go up for a nightcap and sit on the terrace outside of the bar and restaurant looking at the lights blinking and the moon and stars.
I am planning to take my family with me next January. The hotel does have rooms that open to each other and the seven of us would be able to be accommodated very comfortably.
Lastly is you are traveling by car there is a large garage attached to the hotel which has been carved out of the hillside, quite a magnificent piece of engineering.

Room Tip: Always ask for a room with a view of the bay. The views are fine on any floor. Of course there is tr...

I would definitely recommend this hotel.
The location is amazing. The view is breathtaking and even though we were there in January and the weather was quite foggy, we could still admire the bay from our room.
I would definitely recommend the sea-view room.
The staff there is incredibly helpful. The staff at reception always did their utmost to please us. They gave us advise on where to go, what to see, where to eat. Any questions was answered with a smile.
The location of the hotel is also fantastic. As even though you might think it is far from the center, in reality it is in walking distance of all the main centers of interest. From the hotel it's a 30 min walk to Piazza Plebiscito, 20 mins walk to il Lungomare. We also visited the Elmo castle - you can take the funicular to get there. The funicular station is 50m away from the hotel.
The only thing to be aware of, is the taxis. The taxi drivers will 80% of the time try to charge you more. You always need to negotiate the price before agreeing to board the vehicle. Again the wonderful staff from the hotel though was always there to help us. They would tell us how much we should expect to pay and if we were having issues with the cab drivers they would come and speak to the driver for us.
This is definitely one of the best hotel I have ever been to and I will definitively go back!
