“BEST hotel ever”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

I absolutely loved my stay there. Wish I had booked for more than one night. I got an upgrade to a duplex suite looking out over the Bay of Naples. My room wasn't ready when I checked in, so someone escorted me to the hotel bar and offered me a complimentary drink and snacks. I had complimentary wine and cookies awaiting me in my room. The room was exquisite - two baths and a marble staircase. It was truly the bargain of the century. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The staff at the front desk were helpful, polite and everyone spoke English. I will definitely stay there on my next trip to southern Italy.

We just returned from a two night stay at the Grand Hotel Parkers in Naples in a deluxe room overlooking the Bay of Naples. The hotel is overall in very poor condition. The rooms were a good size but not clean, the upholstery was worn and torn, the bathroom smelled, the walls throughout the hotel...rooms and hallways were marked up needing repainting throughout, the carpet in the hallways was badly soiled. Some of the front desk staff were helpful but most seemed to be new to the job. The hotel is located in a very out of way area, requiring a taxi to get anywhere...historic center, museums, good shopping, local restaurants. The only redeeming feature of the hotel was the view from the 6th floor where the breakfast is served.

Dear Judie D, We are deeply sorry you were not able to experience our property at its best but ones again we will take in to deep consideration your tips in the upcoming future. We are proud of having recently received by Trip Advisor itself a proof of excellence for our service and commitment to our beloved guests. This time with you unfortunately we didn’t walk the extra mile you expected from us but most of the times we succeed in that.
We can confirm you that in this period of the year we are restructuring the Deluxe rooms, and we are cleaning the common area with a paint job. The new carpets are coming soon.
Usually our guests love the location for the amazing view, and for the elegance of the quarter that mach with the prestigious streets for shopping and fancy restaurants just 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel.
Please do not hesitate to contact us directly if you would like to share few suggestions,
We really hope to see you one again here at the Parker’s to make sure that we can change your last stay to a memorable journey with us, we will fell honoured to welcome you personally upon arrival.

We stayed at Parkers for two nights. We lived in Naples for four years during the 70s.....have been returning frequently since and came here on our fortieth anniversary this year. We have tried many hotels in Naples. Nothing really completely dazzles the senses in this city. In all this time we never tried the Parker, so we decided to do so on this occasion. The hotel was very busy....so we were able to only book a lowest class booking. The Good!! The reception......taking command of the car, the bags and the check in process was flawless. Very friendly which is not the norm for this city......the facility is well maintained which is also not the norm for this city.....there were rooms being remodeled while we were there.....clearly the intent by the owners/investors is to keep the property in pristine condition. It is an old building and this is not an easy or inexpensive thing to do. The elevators are very old, small and slow......one could regard this as quaint or as inconvenient as one wishes. The restaurant here is "renowned" for its cuisine....it was sold out the night we arrived and the following night we were dining with friends in their home so we didn't get to try it. The view from the top floor restaurant is as fine as there is to be had in a Naples hotel. The cocktail lounge on the top floor is very appealing.....one can sit on a wonderful balcony and enjoy a spectacular view.....excellent service there. Everything in the guest room works.....internet fast and easy to use......rain showers.....nice amenities....no wash cloths which is the norm for Italy.....we always travel with our own while there.........The Bad: Breakfast was just average, which we thought was odd since the restaurant is so "famous". The service at breakfast was rather indifferent, which is also really a norm in Naples. The choices for hotels in Naples are not so good generally speaking.......we'd stay here again......we felt comfortable.......it may be the best property in the city.

Room Tip: Pay more and get the ocean view, if rooms are available.

My wife and I just spent a very enjoyable 4 nights at the Grand Hotel Parkers in a deluxe room over looking the Bay of Naples. After reading the reviews I chose to book....our expectations were exceeded. The room (including bathroom) was very comfortable and spacious. We were welcomed with fresh flowers and a bottle of wine which we really appreciated. Being a little out of central Naples is an advantage. Close to the Hotel is a variety of restaurants and some wonderful shopping (especially at the top of the funicular). We had our best meal in Italy (a risotto alla pescatore) at a small restaurant close by. I can't remember the name but suggest you take the stairs down the hill to via pontano, turn right into via Francesco Crispi, and its the first restaurant on the left. Central Naples is easily accessible via 2 funicular rides. We explored the Island of Capri, Pompeii and spent a day wandering Central Naples - don't miss the veiled Christ. Enjoy Hotel Parkers and Naples because we did.

From the moment of our arrival and the open, friendly welcome by the doorman and reception staff, our week's stay was very good in all respects and continued to be enhanced by the hotel's attentive staff. Our room was situated overlooking the bay and well worth paying the extra for this marvelous aspect. The room's bed was massive and comfortable and any traffic noise (come on,it's Napoli !) was eliminated by efficient balcony windows and sound insulation from adjoining rooms and corridors was good so gave great, peaceful nights. The restaurant food was of a high quality and dining on the balcony overlooking the Bay of Naples was a great combination. There is also a large rooftop terrace which is a great place to relax.
Location gave plenty of other dining possibilities from sophisticated to simple and regional - the staff are dependable guides.
Strongly recommended.

This is an old style hotel - mainly in the positive sense of the word. Up on a hill overlooking Naples, the views from the restaurant and front rooms are spectacular. The rooms are a good size and well appointed despite being a little dated and in need of a spruce up. Our bathroom had 2 sinks and a separate shower/toilet room from the sinks. Great if you are two to a room. We didn't have a desk but the hotel quickly arranged for one to be in our room when we complained. The public areas are charming. The spa was closed "for renovations" when we were there but there was a decent exercise room. We were most disappointed with the restaurant - staff were not very attentive or pleasant. The food was trying too hard with too many ingredients not well matched. A much better choice is the very nearby Veritas Restaurant (less than 2 minutes walk on the same street). Make reservations and be sure to ask for the wine list which is very extensive and excellent in price & choice. If you don't finish the bottle they'll give you a "wine doggy bag". Best about the hotel is their concierge service - excellent, charming and well informed. Be sure to book a trip to the Amalfi coast with Mario as your driver (he's a skit and knows the region like the back of his hand). Do this through concierge service.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a front room with a view to the ocean. It's the only way to go and the street...

We have just returned from a five night stay to celebrate our 20th anniversary and wanted to share our experiences. This is a lovely hotel with fantastic staff who without exception made us feel welcome and special from the moment we entered until the moment we checked out this morning. I would make especial mention of the reception staff who just could not do enough to make our stay special. Any query was dealt with comprehensively with all the information we could wish in a such a friendly demeanour. We never felt we were asking too much and were made to feel so much more than just guests in the hotel. These people are such an asset to the hotel, I have stayed in many hotels around the World and have never been made to feel so welcome before.
Moving onto the hotel and it's facilities the only thing which let it down was the spa which was closed throughout our visit - we had really been looking forward to enjoying it's facilities. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and were more than happy with our experience. Breakfast offered all we could wish, we were especially delighted with the bag which was offered this morning as we had to leave too early to have breakfast in the hotel. The room was all we could have asked for and the bed spacious and comfortable. One minor quibble - why is it that the smallest budget hotel in the UK can offer tea & coffee making facilities in every room but even a 5 star hotel in central Europe doesn't?
The location on top of a hill meant a long walk & hard climb up a flight of steps whenever we wanted to walk into the City but without this location we wouldn't have had such glorious views of Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples. The sunrise over Vesuvius from the roof terrace is really something special and will be remembered for a long time. Taxis into the city varied from around 6 to 10 euros and well worth while to avoid that climb :-)
To anyone who does stay here I would also recommend the Veritas restaurant just down the road - we ate there twice and were thrilled.
Thank you once again for the experience, when we next get the chance to visit Naples we won't hesitate to return to Parkers. Look after that fantastic reception team - they are such an asset to the hotel.
