Grand Hotel Vesuvio
Ranked #7 of 186 Hotels in Naples
Certificate of Excellence

We stayed in a junior suite for 5 nights. The hotel is modern on the outside but retains its old world look on the interior. The breakfast is nice but not up to the standards of a similar class hotel in bigger cities. But, Naples is generally cheaper than Rome.
The staff was willing but not terribly informed as we were sent to the wrong place both for a tailor and a restaurant.
The suite was nice but e furniture is very small (love sear, not a sofa) and the one chair was quite small too. The bed is very nice.

Room Tip: Our room was in the middle of the hotel and directly faced the castle. I would prefer a room more on...

My husband and I stayed two nights In early August and were more than pleased with the accommodations and service. The elegant 9th floor restaurant and outside terrace bar offered spectacular views of Vesuvius and the Castell dell'Ovo. The hotel restaurant while pricey, offers a good selection of local specialties prepared with style. My husband's Mediterranean Sea bass was baked in a salt crust then flash pan seared to give it a nice golden crust and served simply with olive oil and grilled vegetables. The restaurant will also prepare classic local fare like spaghetti al vongole (clams) that is not on the menu of the day. Comfortable rooms with large baths and all the modern amenities you could want. The only disappointment was that the pool is indoors, but you can walk across the street and sunbath on the rocks with the locals.

I was stayed here with my GF for one night before going to Capri and it was the best hotel choice in Napels.
The "ambiente" in this hotel reminds you of the roaring 50s with classic and elegant luxury.
The hotel offers a lot of space with a gigantic hall, huge corridors and Bidermajer furniture.
I loved it to stay here and the service didn't miss anything!
Very good memories!

We only stayed here for one night; this hotel is perfect for a stop-over, actually better than that since it lives up to its reputation of belonging to the leading hotels of the world. The service is very efficient and friendly. The location is perfect, since it is across from the castle and the water, plus it is on the strip that everyone strolls on, yet not right in there that it is too loud. It is also across from many restaurants, many tasty local restaurants. Our favourite was Ristorante Pizzeria la Scialuppa. Excellent atmosphere and food, actually the best pizza we tasted in all of Italy. Naples is not known for the birthplace of pizza for nothing!

Back to the hotel, compared to the other five-stars I stayed in during our Italy/Greece trip, it doesn't stand out as much, but I had no complaints while I was there. I doubt you will too.

We had a stay in Naples overnight to go to the Opera. This hotel was perfect. We were upgraded to a lovely suite with a fantastic view. The reception and concierge staff were excellent, and we were only sorry that we were not staying longer.

Lovely location! A bit annoyed we had to pay 15 Euros each to use the pool, especially as there were four of us. Would expect a hotel of this standard to include this in the price!! Our room was quite dated, Ok for a quick stopover.

A room upgrade by Francesca on Reception ensured we had a wonderful break at this fabulously grand hotel set right on the front of the Via Partenope, where everyone comes to stroll in the evening before visiting one of the many excellent restaurants locally. Our suite had an amazing view over the Castell D'll Ovio and was extremely comfortable. The marble bathroom had a jacuzzi bath which was needed after a few days of shopping and sightseeing. Personal touches such as spa bath salt, night cream and a personal spa assistant meant this was a thoroughly pampering and relaxing trip.

Room Tip: Sea views and ask for the presidential floor on level 5.
