Beautiful location to spend a couple of hours. Great views on Naples. There is a tour, which we did not take.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed July 7, 2014

This was my favorite place to visit in Naples. It consisted of an amazing church with marble inlay, behind the alter and into the rest of the church was an incredible display of wooden inlay as well. There is also an attached museum with carriages and boats. There is a garden and an incredible view out the back as well.

“the view”
Reviewed June 26, 2014

The views are the best feature to this attraction. Not only from the museum terrace over the city below, but also the halls. All the details that you can discover when you take the time. We had a private guide, who pointed out all the gems. Try to get them to show you the room of whispers. Stand with your nose to the wall and whisper to the person on the other side!

“Ambivalent”
Reviewed May 31, 2014

The displays of presepe (Nativity scenes) are amazing, and well worth seeing. Otherwise, the best that can be said about the Certosa is that you get to enjoy great views of Naples from the courtyard, and (a consideration that is far from trivial in Naples) the bathrooms have toilet paper. However, the Certosa is a rambling old place, and the map you are given is pretty much worthless, so you end up wandering about wondering where things might be hidden away.

If time is limited, and you are looking for an art fix, you'll be better off heading to Capodimonte and the Museo Nazionale.

“Complements the Royal Palace”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

Superb interiors with fresco-like ceilings and walls, as well as impressive cloisters. The views across Naples are also fabulous. However, the walk from the nearest Metro station (Toledo) is hard going. The footpath leading to the top is well sign-posted but you certainly need good walking shoes to opt for this route.
