“Funny in the evening”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2012

A lot of restaurants and terraces, some with better food, some with funkier people. Not clean (as all the Napoli center), but lively and pleasant.
Many book stores and music stores (instruments etc.) around. Plus a likable hotel: Hotel Piazza Bellini.

“A square dedicated to the opera maestro”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2012

Piazza Bellini is at the heart of the old town in Naples, close to the famous Music Conservatory of Naples San Pietro a Majella. The square and its monument are dedicated to the Sicilian composer Vincenzo Bellini, who studied at the conservatory in Naples. His operas include the famous and beautiful Norma. Next to the statue at the center there are the rests of the Greek walls of Neapolis, the new city. Overlooking the square the elegant staircase and the main facade of the eighteenth-century Convent of St. Anthony in Port'Alba. Numerous cafes frequented till late by young people, students, intellectuals, and beggars flock to the square

“Cool place for a coffee.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2012

I visited the piazza for a coffee. It's right next a music college and there were a couple of students busking. This is a cool place for a coffee to absorb some atmosphere and chill out for a hour.

Picturesque and lively, full of students from the nearby university day and night, it also has some great cafes and restaurants on its perimeter.

“A square for relaxing and socializing.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 2, 2010

From the first evening I came to Naples Piazza Bellini was the place l felt most comfortable. There are many young people, mostly students wandering around and siting at the caffes and bars of the square and its nearby streets. Among them my best -though a little expensive- was the literary caffe Intra Moenia in which one can drink his coffee reading the books and the art albums of the places library. On a nearby street is the Gothic church S. Pietro a Maiella and next to it the music conservatory. At this street It's situated a great tiny pub with nice music, Perditempo, where people usually drink and have fun outside on the dark street with other people and vespas walking among them, a crazy but funny experience. This is a meeting point mostly for the citys left oriented youth .
