Naples is a beautiful city with amazing bones if you can look past the grit and graffiti. Well worth a visit for history buffs. That being said, this is not Paris, or Rome or Florence there is no peaceful strolling about the city it's very congested and busy so you need to walk with purpose. Staying at La Ciliegina was a wonderful. peaceful stay in this busy city. The room was white with beautiful linen sheets and duvet cover. AMAZING. The bathroom was all marble and had a lovely jacuzzi tub- just what you need after a day sightseeing in the city. Massimo was extremely helpful and helped us with directions to anywhere we wanted to go. I was very impressed with his friendly personality and professionalism. One thing that was very helpful for us since we were nearing the end of our vacation and had used up most our toiletries was that the hotel had just about everything we needed in our room from bubble bath, toothpaste, lotion everything. It really helped. The hotel also has a roof deck and free breakfast which had a variety of foods for just about everyone from fresh fruit, croissants, cereal, hard boiled eggs etc. I have to say this room is one of my favorite hotel rooms that I have ever stayed in. I am going to try to track down the same linens they use as they were divine. Stay at this hotel you will not be disappointed.

This hotel is exactly like the majority of the reviews here. Clean, spacious and cool. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Very close to the Alibus stop (€4 from the airport). Breakfast very civilised on the rooftop, coffee and croissants.

My only criticism is that the pillows appear to be made of foam, so not overly comfortable, however, the beds are massive (6ft approx) which is a big plus.

I would certainly recommend this hotel when staying in Naples.

We stayed here in July, and the roof top jacuzzi was a 'god send'.This hotel was quite difficult to find as it is tucked away behind buildings, but secured at night by an entry system. We found that a hotel address card and circle on a map helped when asking directions. The staff were excellent and very helpful. The room was stunning, clean, well decorated and the bathroom clean, but shower a little compact for the 'larger' guest. There were adequate soft fluffy towels, bathroom items and tea and coffee provided. Room service for breakfast was available at no extra cost, but we preferred to take breakfast on the roof top bar area instead. Air conditioning in the room remained on even when we left the room, and was very welcomed. The room was quiet, and minimal street noise. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished we had booked more nights. The ferry port was about 10minutes walk away, and the area is full of good quality restaurants and bars.

Room Tip: our room was on the top floor and faced the main street. It was quiet.

My girlfriend booked this hotel based on the ranking on Tripadvisor, as we arrived at the entrance I said "oh no, what have we done".....I spoke to soon, up in the lift, quick check in and then shown to the fabulous room 1001. Large, spacious, beautifully decorated, airy, high ceilings, big bathroom...the list could go on and on.

Great location, helpful staff. nothing more to say than if you are going to Naples stay here.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 1001 which was a junior suite, it was perfection.

This hotel is hard to find and a real little gem. Decorated beautifully in marble everywhere it's also ultra high tech, with things like hall lights that go on when you walk by. Rooms are very quiet but not all are a good size. We almost learned this the hard way but switched rooms bathrooms need counter or shelf space. There is none. . Staff were generally great but one in particular played loud music and we think watched a movie while the sound pumped through speakers on the roof where we sat. We also had major issues with the parking garage they used, and it took us half an hour to get out one day. Not good. On the other hand the breakfast was lovely and served on the rooftop terrace. With just a few tweaks this place would be perfect.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 days in June of this year.

Staff:
All of the staff were friendly and more than accommodating. They showed us locations that might interest us on a map (without us having to ask them to) and always made us feel like we were coming back home after the day had passed. Most staff spoke English which was also very helpful.

Rooms:
The rooms were very nice with beautiful bathrooms, many amenities (you don't need to bring shampoo, conditioner, body wash, q-tips, cotton balls, hair dryer, etc as they provide it). Our balcony faced the south street which was nice. The noise wasn't too much from the balcony.

Rooftop Terrace:
Nice location for breakfast or jut reading. The hot tub was only ever luke warm. Others encountered this as well.

Breakfast Included:
We really enjoyed the continental breakfast. For being a cold breakfast, there were a surprising amount of options. The coffees were deluxe. Be aware that you should ask for your food about 15 minutes before you want it. Also, you may have to ask for another room service request form for breakfast as ours was not replenished without asking. Also, they did forget our breakfast altogether once but we're the forgiving type so they still get a 5/5. And they were really good about making it promptly when they found out.

Location:
It is close to some great restaurants and just about 1-2 blocks from the best boulevard shopping. Not so close to the pier that you would regularly walk there though.

Shopping:
We found out that it is custom in Italy NOT to touch the shoes when you want to buy them. You are expected to look at them and decide if you like them. Then you ask for a size. If the size doesn't fit, they will get you another. This was really strange for us but we try to go out of our way to go by others' customs when we travel.

Eating:
Some ice cream (Gelato) shops have it where you pay first, then order. Just be aware of this if you don't see anyone else paying: you are probably supposed to get a ticket by paying the cashier in another location.

Night Time Fun:
It's a cultural norm for people to go waking after dinner. I highly recommend this social experience. It's not something that we do in Canada and really put a nice touch on our vacation. From the hotel, walk 1-2 blocks up the hill to the shopping street. Take a left and keep on going until you get to the water. Just amazing!

Great, safe, friendly hotel overall.

This is a beautiful small hotel with bright, lovely rooms, and spacious, modern bathrooms. The beds are very comfortable, and the front desk staff helpful and friendly. We found the breakfast to have a lot of variety (more than in many other hotels in Italy). The rooftop terrace was a pleasant place to have breakfast. The location is excellent - very close to the Castel Nuovo, Teatro di San Carlo, Palazzo Reale, etc. I highly recommend this hotel. It is somewhat quirky being on the third floor of a building, but that is part of its charm.
