Smart and comfortable hotel. Stayed for 4 nights. Clean, tidy, decent continental breakfast. It's really the location that lets this hotel down. Its a busy messy street (although Naples itself is pretty hectic and dirty) - regularly drunks hanging out at the bottom of the street and 'ladies of the night' down the street - having said that, when walking back to the hotel at night I never felt unsafe but I think the area could truly put some people off. If you're ok with a bit of gritty city life humming around you then the hotel is smart and comfortable.

I consider it worth visiting because of the sound value for money, far above average in Naples, the modern decoration and great beds and, especially, the helpful staff. I will repeat in my next trip to the city.

We spent three nights in this lovely hotel in a standard room on the top floor, overlooking the street. It had lovely high ceilings and was a good size with a really comfortable bed. We could hear some noise from the street, and sometimes the planes at the nearby airport, but never at a volume to disturb us. The room was clean and had everything we needed but perhaps due to the size or the layout, it felt sparsely furnished, with just one very strange painting on the wall.

We arrived around midday and had a short wait at reception to check-in, but they worked through the queue efficiently and our room was available straight-away. When we were ready to go out again we stopped at reception and Andrea couldn't have been more helpful. He answered our queries, provided a great map of Naples pointing out the highlights, gave us wifi logins/passwords for our mobile devices and even set up the wifi on my phone. We had four devices between us and were given wifi access for all of them, free, for the duration of our stay. The wifi signal didn't extend to our room though although it was fine in reception and the bar.

There were no tea/coffee facilities in our room even though the website indicated there would be. I asked at reception and was told these are only in suites but we could get hot water from the bar; we did try it once but the water wasn't very hot so we didn't bother again.

If you're not already an Accor hotel card holder, it might be worth enrolling as it's free. I got my room preferences without having to ask and we were given a voucher for a free drink each in the bar (drink choices were a bit limited but included the house wine.) We used the bar twice during our stay and both times had quite a wait to get served. We found the bar and mini-bar prices expensive as you may expect in this class of hotel. Breakfast was included in our rate and we didn't have a problem finding a table, but on our last day (a Sunday) we slept a bit later and some of the options, especially the pastries, had run out and weren't replenished. There were flasks of hot milk to go with the Americano coffee but it seemed a bit unnecessary to keep the bottles of cold milk for the cereals in the fridge when they were being taken out and used so often.

Location of the hotel was OK. Not a salubrious part of Naples, but I’m not sure there are any and the groups of men who congregate on the pavement everywhere and won’t move for anyone took some getting used to. However, we never felt threatened or unduly bothered when out. Do watch out for the scooters and cars that hurtle everywhere, especially down alley-ways shared with pedestrians.

Naples is a great place to use as a base for visiting Pompeii, Herculaneum and Sorrento but, although I liked the hotel, I didn't love Naples and next time would stay somewhere along the Amalfi coast.

Nice rooms with all modern facilities but I must confess I have had trouble to access the internet. Service is conducted by charming people, very eager to help. The building is indeed a palace and the internal patios and gardens are very charming. I have tried the restaurant and it was, I am sorry to say, more or less as far as the food was concerned since my pasta dish came cold but the veal with roasted potatoes was ok. It is a walking distance from interesting points and streets full of shopping options

A cosy hotel in an ex-Palace with a golden location in the middle of the old city for lovers of authentic experiences ( but with high standards). Some rooms have beautiful terraces with nice views. The more than copious breakfast for approximately 10euros in the private garden is perfect to start an activity filled day in Naples.
Overall, price for quality is more than EXCELLENT and I enjoyed my stay there so much that i'm going to stay there once again this summer with a group of friends.

We wanted to be near the centro historico, and feel a bit of what Naples was about and still have a clean professional retreat. For a city break this hotel is a great choice. And a good base for exploring the city. We got a deal through ratestogo which was unbeatable so more than happy all round. We did not eat at the hotel but preferred to take a chance around the town. We did try the Lombardy as recommended..... would not go there again. Hope this help fellow travellers....ps we live in Bari at the moment.

Room Tip: ask for a terrace room on the first floor.
