My husband and I stayed here for three days. When we arrived, my husband was terribly ill and the hotel gave us access to our room early (10 am) at no extra charge. The rooms were very clean and modern. Internet was provided at a cost though minimal so we didn't really care (7 euro for our entire stay). The location was great, close to all the main things to see in Naples. The city itself is dirty and the M Gallery was most certainly a diamond in the rough. The price was also very fair; we paid about 100 euro a night which was well worth it. Naples pretty much shuts down after dinner so do yourself a favour and book yoursel into this fine hotel so you have a nice place to relax in the later hours.

We booked as part of a British Airways weekend break. The hotel greatly exceeded our expectations for the price we paid. It is stylish and relaxed, with the helpfulness and hospitality that we've come to expect from Italians. Our room wasn't particularly large, but was very comfortable with a lovely bathroom.
I should mention the wi-fi - 7€ for the whole stay was a reasonable price for a reliable service.
The buffet breakfast was of good quality, and varied, but I think that's what I'd expect for 12€.
The location is 'characterful', but convenient for the Archaeological Museum and some super places to eat.

We spent 3 days in Naples in this marvelous hotel. The location is great and the room esp the bigger suite we had was just perfect. The only caveat is breakfast - the weather was great but the staff insisted on having all guest inside.
Would highly recommend !

We stayed for three nights mid-March 2013.

For the pros: the hotel is clean, well located near the railway station and the buffet breakfast is impressive (not always the case in Italy where the breakfast fare is usually slim..). Yes, it's true, the area around the hotel _seems_ dodgy. It's not really clean, chaos is everywhere during the day and the different buildings are covered with graffiti. Having said that, it's not a place where we felt in danger or insecure in any way. It's actually surprisingly quiet at night. The Carbonara street is on the edge of Spaccanapoli, the main historical neighbourhood in Naples. It's Naples.. the chaos and the dark narrow streets are one of the main elements of its charm. Nevertheless, it's the proximity to the railway station that makes this location so interesting as most of the other attractions are on the other side of historical center anyway (around Toledo street).

For the cons: we found our room to be tiny, far from what would be expected from this price range. Any room in a good B&B would be better (and cheaper). Our room (248) was at the end of the corridor, facing the residential building next door which meant that we had a view on some guy's living room (and vice versa..). As the hotel was far from being fully booked, we wondered why we got such a drab room. The staff isn't exactly the most welcoming in town but it goes with the overall look of the "palazzo". Wifi is not included...

All in all, it's not bad but it's not stellar either. Contrary to the other comments, the location is not a problem. If we had been given a better room, the rate would have been something like 4/5. Too bad. Next time we'll try something else.

Room Tip: The hotel has two inner courtyards if you think the street noise might be a problem. Avoid any room...

The hotel was excellent. Breakfast (included) was one of the best. The room, which faced the inner courtyard, was roomy, clean and quiet. The bed was especially comfortable and the pillows luxurious. Lovely bathroom with very hot showers along with soap, shampoo, lotion and hair dryer.
The only downside was the cost of evening dinner but the food was excellent.
The staff were friendly and helpful even the security guards outside.
A return visit would be a priority but for Naples itself but that is another story.

We stayed here for 5 nights during a quick visit to Naples. The hotel is right on the edge of the old town and is easy walking distance from the central railway station and the Archaeological Museum. Staying here in early March, the hotel seemed to be very quiet and some things, like the restaurant, bar and air conditioning, seemed to be closed or partially available. Although our room was overlooking the very busy road, we didn't have any problem with noise. The hotel itself is really nice, with plenty of shady areas to sit and very pleasant rooms.

What a fantastic hotel. Excellent rooms and great service from the staff - front of hotel and those behind the scenes in maid services etc. Clean, towels changes daily, weather forecast delivered to your door - brilliant. Only slight downside is the restaurant is quite expensive - nice food don't get me wrong, but a little dear.....

Room Tip: People say inside court rooms are nicer, ours was overlooking the main street, but we had a great vi...
