“One of the Best B & B's ever!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2013

You'll feel like you are visiting your favourite Italian relatives when you stay at Maria Mari.

It's in a real Napoli neighbourhood, and a little tricky to find (the neighbours will point it out to you if you look uncertain). But any misgivings you have will evaporate once you make your way upstairs and step inside. The apartment (which we had to ourselves the whole time) is quiet, clean, bright and cheerful. It is also within walking distance to everything you'll want to see in Naples.

To top it all off, Maria and Vincenzo are two of the most considerate, friendly and charming hosts we've ever stayed with. Highest recommendation!

For the second time I spent some days at this lovely b&b in february 2013. This time I travelled with my family. The b&b is located in a vibrant area. It is just one minute from the main shopping street, Via Toledo, but as it lies in a small alley there is no noise from the road. Just when you walk to the other side you are in the middle of Pignasecca, a lively small market area. There is a taxi stand two minutes away and the cable car to the Vomero area from where you get a breathtaking view of Naples is just three minutes from the b&b. Just in 5 minutes you are in the historic centre, the Spaccanapoli. The next metro station is only 5 minutes away. There are plenty of lovely restaurants nearby with traditional neapolitan food and wine.
But the best part is the b&b itself. It is spotlessly clean with a very nice dining room, where a true neapolitan breakfast is served. Maria and Vincenzo make you feel very much at home. We are already planning our next trip to Naples and will definitely stay again in this marvel of a b&b.

Maria, Vincenzo and Giovanni were excellent hosts. Giovanni went out of his way to ensure we arrived safely at Maria Mari and was very helpful with our luggage. Upon arrival Maria and Giovanni showed a lot of interest in our trip, to date, and asked if they could help us in further planning our stay in Naples. They had maps to give us directions and great suggestions for local restaurants and attractions.
Maria Mari is very centrally located and within walkin distance to many landmarks and attractions. The bed and room was clean and comfortable and had a private bath in our room. The breakfasts were superb with Maria's homemade cakes, lemon marmalade, and excellent coffee. Maria always ensured that there were a variety of snacks available for us and even gave us a bottle of wine. We were given full access to all amenities including laundry complete with typical Naploi clothes line!
When Giovanni and Maria found out we were interested in seeing the Amalfi Coast they suggested that we should hire a driver, and on very short notice were able to find us one. Salvadore chauffered us around Amalfi for the entire day, occasionally stopping and taking our picture in picturesque locations, and ensuring our last day in Naples (and Italy) was relaxing. If you are thinking of visiting the Amalfi Coast from Naples this is a highly recommended way to do so. Thank you Salvadore! In fact, we had Salvadore drive us to the airport the next morning to avoid the public transit.
On our last morning in Naples, Maria personally took us on a walking tour to a local church, Santa Maria Dell' Aiuto, before we met our driver. When we left we truly felt as though we were leaving family. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay in Naples!

Maria and Vincenzo, and their son Giovanni made our stay in Naples the highlight of our vacation to southern Italy. They are wonderful hosts, and truly made us feel part of the family. The breakfasts were superb; the apartment and rooms are modern, spotless, and complete with all travelers' needs. Their B&B is just off Toledo, one of the main avenues of Naples, so everything we wanted to see, museums, city life, shopping, was within walking distance or easy public transportation, -and there's outstanding Gelato on Toledo just at the entrance to their street. If anyone has doubts about Naples' reputation, a stay at Maria Mari will almost certainly vanquish them . As Maria told me, it is said: "Those who have been to Naples love Naples, and only those who have never been to Naples hate Naples"!

We enjoyed our stay of four nights with Maria and Vincenzo thoroughly. Naples is an exceptional town and this bed and breakfast the best place to enjoy it. The location is superb: you are in a very lively part of Napoli full of life and really italian. Still, there is no traffic noise.
The bed & breakfast itself is wonderful: spotless with a wonderful breakfast. And then there are Maria and Vincenzo who care for you as if you're part of the family.

A bit difficult to find, but once you know it is the perfect location to explore the city. On foot it is is only a few minutes away from the historic centre and the seaside. Metro (Monsanto) is close by. For foodlovers there are several excellent addresses near the house, not to forget the awesome gelateria just around the corner. Maria and Enzo, the owners of the place, are lovely people and do all they can to make you feel comfortable and at home. Their warm hospitality and the amazing breakfast they offer are unrivaled and we'll never forget. Try the homemade jam, the limoncello and the many other things you have to experience yourself. One of the best b&b's encountered during more than 25 years of travelling. Highly recommended, J&D.

The location is just off of a main street in a vibrant neighborhood with the best gelato a few meters away. The building is slightly hard to locate and looks like a normal apartment building- and it is, because the proprietor's are relly welcoming you into their home. The breakfasts in the kitchen at a common table are splendid. The rooms are nice and clean. It is a great deal that will allow you time to be in Naples and enjoy life Italian-style.
