Maria Mari Bed & Breakfast

Certificate of Excellence

The location is just off of a main street in a vibrant neighborhood with the best gelato a few meters away. The building is slightly hard to locate and looks like a normal apartment building- and it is, because the proprietor's are relly welcoming you into their home. The breakfasts in the kitchen at a common table are splendid. The rooms are nice and clean. It is a great deal that will allow you time to be in Naples and enjoy life Italian-style.

Maria Mari is perfectly located in the busy heart of this beautiful, colorful city. Maria is a wonderfully kind and attentive woman, Her B and B is spotlessly clean, and her kindness and generosity is overwhelming. Son Giovanni speaks excellent English and his passion and knowledge of his own city is fantastic. Dad Vncenzo is an elegant and lovely man and will keep the excellent coffee coming at breakfast.
Privacy is assured at this B and B, Each room has an ensuite,,and the kitchen is well stocked
The location is very close to the Montesanto metro stop and is a wonderful neighborhood.
I could never consider staying at a conventional hotel after staying here.
I thoroughly recommend this B and B..

Dennis and I were a little shaken after I had my wallet pickpocket in Rome, and the arrival at the Montesanto Metro station (we should have arrived on the Via Toledo side) did not make us feel much better...until that is Giovano met us and walked us to the B&B a few yards away where we also met his mom and dad. We were sold! Wow! Everything was excellent, but their smiles, the cake, the coffee, the room, their kindness...it all made up very quickly for a sour time in Rome. We will recommend the, to our friends and we will be back to Napoli because the city deserves more than a one-day visit...as do the owners of the B&B. Simply go! Julio.

We stayed Maria Mari Bed & Breakfast in the end of March 2012. Everything in this place was excellent!!! Location of BB is perfect - just 12 minutes by foot to the sea, just 5 minutes by foot to the area where the most of the sights of the Napoli are situated and a few steps from undeground station and funicular station.
Our room was very clean, cosy and comfortable, so as the common area with citchen. We can use it in any time to make coffe and tea and to make use of fridge. We had breakfast in this kitchen too. Breakfast was perfect too - fruit juices, yogurts, ham, bread and baked goods, which Maria or her husband brought to us every morning. Maria, the owner of BB, twice baked Easter Neapolitan cakes for us!!! And every morning we enjoyed Maria's orange jam. And every morning Maria maked coffe for us!
Maria is wonderful woman! She and her husband were very hospitable to us and to other travellers. Tnanks to Maria we really felt like we were at home. She really like her BB and people who stay there.
I recommend this BB to everybody and I am sure thad we stay there next time!

Maria and Enzo, the proprietors of this B&B, love what they do, and it really shows. From the cheery and comfortable decor of the rooms, the cleanliness of the rooms, to the delicious breakfasts and overall genial hospitality, my fond memories and wonderful experience of Naples was absolutely heightened by my fantastic experience at the B&B. So much so, that I have returned to stay there more than once and will return again gladly in the future.

The B&B is centrally located, tucked away just off a little alley-like street off Piazza Carita. Perfect central location, and on the second floor. From the outside, it is a residence building where you have to buzz to get inside. I liked this because it made me feel less like a tourist and more like I was living in Naples; there are restaurants, markets and stores immediately outside the building, which makes the location super convenient. Just be aware that there is no elevator to the second floor, so that means carrying your luggage up a few flight of steps.

Each room is outfitted with its own private bathroom, and meticulously clean. The rooms (there are only 3, with a 4th larger suite) are spacious, bright and cheery, and very comfortable. There is a common area with a kitchenette and dining area, a television and computer with free internet access, as well as a washing machine for laundry. Although close to everything, it is very quiet inside.

What really sets this place apart from all the others are the proprietors, Maria and Enzo. These are the most delightful, enthusiastic, and generous people who embody the best of Neapolitanis. They will truly do everything they can to accommodate your needs. If you need help with transportation to and from the B&B, they will help you with that, as well as provide any information they have about local events and information, sights and surrounding areas. They provide breakfast in the mornings and try to offer tastes and delicacies unique to Naples. Native to the area, they are a wealth of information and a great resource. That said, they are also extremely respectful and non-intrusive; you can have as little or as much contact with them as you wish.

Staying here makes you feel less like a tourist, but more like a welcome guest at someone's house where you are treated extremely well, and have open access to the common facilities. This place is more than just a regular B&B; here you will feel like you are truly getting a slice of life experience of Naples, with all the warmth, generosity, and beauty that it has to offer!

I have to admit: when we arrived at Vico san Nicola alla Carità we were a little bit worried. The location is very conveniently situated in the center ot Naples but very popular; narrow alleys and old buidings, and number 5 is an old building too, perfectly inserted in the contest. So we were looking around, standing with our luggages, when a joyous voice from above cought our attention.
"You welcome! Come in, come in! I'm arriving!" said the woman from a balcony, and after few moments the front door was opened and Maria appeared: she was waiting for us.
She is a very special guest: we suddenly felt as old friends coming back in visit after long time. And, arrived at the second floor after steep black-stone stairs, another surprise: behind a levigate and heavy door, your perspective changes and you can entry another dimension. A very well-groomed ambient, a large common space with large kitchen, table, tv, internet connected computer and a red sofa. Then the room (we had "Arla"), which appears like you was the very first visitor; all clean and accurate setting. The private bathroom has shower, hairdryer, toilet, bidet and washbasin, all things like new.
And what can I say about gorgeous breakfast with fresh neapolitan sweets, the warm but unobtrusive assistance about sightseeing and eating houses ("Taverna del bongustaio" is just few meters away from Mariamarì, and offers exellent local food for very reasonable price), the high-level knowledge about history, art and culture? Well, we can only say that Mariamarì is the perfect place, and we'll be back.
