unforgettable stay. i lived in a tranquil state of mind, kindly woken up by neapolitan food smells, gentle neapolitan songs played in the street, and caressing street noises.

breakfast is an heavenly experience, simple, scrumptuous and peaceful.

thanks to a terrific host, Tonia Brangi, my period in naples was unforgettable

Room Tip: any and all rooms are spacious ,clean, simply furnitured and well equiped

Three of us shared a big, airy room five floors up, overlooking the busy square by the san Lorenzo Maggiore church-great for people watching and getting the ambience of Naples.Ideal location in one of the most interesting parts of Naples, close to some good restaurants and gelateria and walking distance to loads of interesting places.15 minute walk to the station and from there easy access to Pompeii, Herculaneum and Oplontis-all must sees.
The B&B was good value, very clean and comfortable- nice breakfast on the roof terrace and a wonderful spot to see the sunset over Mount Vesuvius. Very courteous and helpful staff - we would certainly come here again.

As Naples is pretty loud and chaotic (although fun), this was the perfect place to recover. The location was good and secure, the rooms are very clean, everything worked fine, the staff very friendly and the breakfast on the balcony was a real treat. They do only take cash, although payment was at checkout. I can recommend.

My wife and I spent a single night at Zia Maria at the end of a long-weekend visiting Naples and the surrounding area. The guesthouse is ideally situated right in the historical centre of Naples and from our bedroom balcony we were able to look out over the city and down onto the square and the statue of Saint Gaetano. There is a private lift going directly to the fifth floor entrance to the guesthouse. Our room was extremely spacious and there was even a fully-equipped kitchenette in what we at first thought was a wardrobe. Friendly and helpful owner and staff.

If you have heavy bags, it is probably advisable to take a taxi, but if (like ourselves) you are used to walking and only have a couple of light backpacks, it is an easy walk from Naples Central (Garibaldi) Station to Zia Maria. Note that it is not worthwhile taking the metro - this is not that easy to understand if you are unfamiliar with the system and it is at least a twenty minute train journey from Garibaldi to the closest metro station to Zia Maria - which is almost as far from the guesthouse as is Garibaldi station itself. Except that if you walk there directly from Garibaldi you walk through tourist areas, whereas walking there from the closest metro station takes you through some rather poor and dilapidated parts of the city.

Zia Maria is a good guesthouse and is good value for money.

If you want to be at the heart of the old centre of Naples, then this is the place for you. It is a real haven in a noisy and busy area, and very secure. No less than 5 keys are needed to get in! The rooms are clean and quiet and there is a nice roof terrace for breakfast in good weather or just to sit out and enjoy the view over Vesuvius. We even had a neighbour playing 'O sole mio' when sitting out enjoying some wine one evening!

The breakfast was fresh if a bit sparse even by Italian standards, and the only drawback, not mentioned on their website is that they only take payment in cash.

Great location and good, clean accommodation. Shame the breakfast isn't served until 9am though. Would also have liked the offer of an earlier breakfast when leaving at 7am to go to the airport. Money taken the night before with no offer of food for the morning. Not good!

Eight days in April

Elegant simplicity, luminous, art

Crisp whiteness of the linen, of the halls, of the rooms

In the very heart of Naples, of its history, of the people

The terrace at night: roofs, terraces, duomos, the Bay of Naples, Vesuvious, ancient towers, the stars; below, the sound of humanity, hum of the crowd, talking, laughing, children playing, fireworks, scooters, singing, bells

In your room, you close the windows and the shutters, silence

Roberto, elegantissimo, distinguished, knows travelers are like children

Paola, Roberta, such dedication to the family business, everything pristine and fresh

Roberta grazie per lasciando me condividere roba greco

Naples astonishing and beguiling
