I regularly visit Naples for work and eat in a range of restaurants in this area of Naples (around Piazza Garbaldi) - plenty of these restaurants are fine but we've just discovered Da Donato's and it's in a different league. As the restaurant isn't on the Piazza it's quieter and less frenetic than the more central places

Their menu is a good range of typical dishes - excellent pizza & pasta dishes with really fresh ingredients. Good salads and the fish other people were eating looked good too. Wine & desserts matched the rest of the menu.

Great service - helpful and friendly - and very good value for money - well worth making the effort to find this place.

What a great find via Trip Advisor. Short walk from our hotel. Great family & neighborhood-style restaurant. We asked for the Fantasia della Chef and it was fabulous--a surprise that changes every day. We were not disappointed. The host and his wife, the cook, were very nice and friendly. Didn't order the pizza or calzone, but they looked great at nearby tables. Thanks for a delicious meal. (To the chef: I hope you get to the US for your dream vacation! Best wishes!)

Great place just off Piazza Garibaldi. If you are staying near the station then this is far the best place. Food and service excellent, staff very patient even though we spent ages asking questions about many things on the menu. Pizzas cooked using a wood oven and they don't skimp on the toppings. The clientele were mainly locals...plus a few few foreigners. The staff even agreed to pose with one of my puppets too!

Truth be told we ate here both nights we were in Naples because it was close to the hotel and the city was terrifying. However, it was a great little pizza joint. The staff spoke very good English and were very attentive, especially for Italian service which is very hands off. Their pizza is old school brick oven and the 4 cheese was the best pizza I have ever had! One night they even had a guy come in as sing an play guitar. It is definitely a tourist spot, but a lifesaver if you are staying in this part of town.

I've been to this restaurant more than once. I travel on work quite a lot and there are only few places where I always feel welcome and at home and this is one of them. Both Ciro (the owner) and Marilena (his wife & the Chef) really know how to welcome their guests and make them feel at home. And that's not all! The restaurant still feels like a local place despite the fact that it has become quite popular among tourists lately. The food is authentic, creative and delicious! Whenever I go there with friends or colleagues, we never order but let Ciro bring whatever Marilena has prepared and it's always delicious and fresh. Marilena is also a very warm person who is always willing to tell you her cooking secrets and give you recipes! Also great value for money. Definitely a place I will always go back to!
