What can I say, this is definitely one of the best restaurants in Naples if you're looking for authentic Neapolitan specialties. Great value for money.

“Simple, tasty, authentic, good value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2012

Good basic home cooking in a small local restaurant. Menu in Italian, English and French. House wine very drinkable but also quite an extensive wine list at reasonable prices. We are only here for 5 days but we will be going back.

“Great value, Neapolitan food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2012 via mobile

We were recommended this place by friends we were staying with (locals) as a true taste of Napoli. While not refined the food was excellent at extremely good value. €6 a plate for primi or secondi, a bit more for fish and a big beer, half litre of wine and a bottle of water came to €8. Small dining room means you may share a table if a couple and the friendly staff were more than happy to help us out as we don't speak any Italian.

“Authentic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

We were recommended this restaurant from our hotel and it was a little difficult to find but we were glad we did. Not touristy very authentic and the food was delicious. Our bill was less than 20 euro and it was perfect for lunch.

“It was ok, but....”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 21, 2012

On the recommendation of our concierge we went to this restaurant. It is just over the bridge from Via Ciaia, and somewhat difficult to find. It is a small place with room for about 30. We were the only two at around 2pm. We did not see any salads on the menu but they made us a caprese salad and it was very good. We also had fried calamari and spaghetti with olives and capers, and an eggplant ragout. The dishes were good, not great. The calamari was chewy but nicely battered. The bags of dried pasta you can see in the kitchen from your table suggest they do not make their own. We found the price of wine high. We also felt confused with the bill and took it back to our concierge to interpret. Turns out we were charge 3 euros for sitting at the table and 3.50 euro for service. We are used to paying a tip back home but it is not typical in Italy. We couldn't even ask the waitress what the charges were for because we don't speak Italian. So it seemed odd as we have not had this happen elsewhere (a table sitting and service charge). Napoli is a city where you feel a strange tension as a tourist. I wouldn't go back to this restaurant because I found our bill of 40 euro's high for what we got.
