If you want good quality fresh seafood go here. Not much ambience but some would say there is. It’s basic and honest with no fuss. No problem going back.

Recommended by Fodor so got reservation at 9. All 14 tables filled at once for single waitress and hopeless young helper. Sat under air conditioner that dropped water and lint on us. We had wrong water delivered, terrible Sorrento wine. Not offered bread. Had fruit of sea app which was 8 tiny clams and 2 foul oysters. Linguini ok but mostly shells and empty carcasses. Waited forever for bad food. Terribly spot with no character. Sorry Fodor, you got this one wrong.

We came here on the recommendation of our concierge, which we have found to be one of the best ways of finding good places in large cities, when TripAdvisor offers you so many choices.

It is a small place on a side street to the south of the city. You would not find it easily if you were not looking for it. Apart from us, everybody else in the restaurant was Italian and, we suspect, the majority was probably local. There were several families and groups of friends.

The menu was mostly fish or other seafood and it was fresh and delicious. To start we had a mixed starter of bianchetti (baby fish), fried anchovies, squid and stewed octopus and a tuna tartare. For mains we chose grilled langoustines and a whole squid. It was all simply cooked and served with professionalism and a smile. There was no attempt to be anything other than a friendly, good restaurant and we loved that.

We would happily go back as often as they would have us. Grazie!

Da Dora was one of several rerstaurants we went to, during our stay in Naples. It was by far the most expensive (triple the price of what we usually paid in Naples), which in itself is fine. But it was also nothing special at all. The avocados that came with the fish tartare were hard, my pasta was watery and oily.... Yes, the fish is fresh, but it is not the only place you can get fresh fish.
At the end we got a hand written bill - also not very trustworthy.

That’s a place that you cannot find if you do not know that you need to get there.
Very kind and efficient despite a very busy evening (sounds like all evenings are busy). Had to wait despite that we made a reservation, these folks are running more than two service for the dinner. Crazy.
Every thing was of superior taste, seafood, fish, desert. Wine was excellent (Furore is definitively a vineyard to try).
Bill was not cheap but comparing what you could pay in another big European city it’s quite affordable.
Again staff was very nice and kind and professional.
