Hotel Palazzo Decumani
Ranked #9 of 185 Hotels in Naples
Certificate of Excellence

just spent 4 nights in the amazing city of Naples and stayed in the Palazzo Decumani....what a great choice. If you have not been to Naples before the area the hotel is located in can be a bit of a shock, but do not be put off, its the perfect location to explore.
On arrival, check in was fast and efficient and the room (204) was amazing....very large with a view over the small square....one small complaint for a hotel of this quality...no tea or coffee making facilities but then again in a city full of great coffee "shops", why would you want to drink instant, with plastic milk.
The included breakfast is good with plenty of choice from the Continental buffet, not sure if it does any cooked options as its not my thing....but for me the real gem in this hotel, is the bar man and judging by the many comments in other reviews it appears to be a common theme.... His parmesan covered in honey (yes, really) is just so good.
Outside the hotel, turn right and you have a great pizza restaurant...turn left and walk 20 yards and you find a very good cafe that serves pastries, ice cream and of course that famous Napolitano coffee.
One last tip....explore, it may look scary, but the people are really friendly, a bit crazy, but that is what makes this place so amazing.

Room Tip: ask for a room looking over the square...good to watch the daily life of the locals

We were very comfortable in this large room with a huge bathroom. The modern decor, and free drink and appetizers in the lounge were enjoyable. The staff was pleasant and available. Wi-fi was free but didn't work in the room. We worked around this by taking our devices downstairs to the lounge.

This is a boutique-style hotel with stylish minimalist decor. It only does breakfast and that is fairly standard but the bar is very good. It is in the heart of one of the older parts of Naples with eateries and shopping just nearby. We were upgraded to a Superior room with a balcony overlooking the small square outside the hotel. It is not particularly good value - rather the price is typical for its type. Naples is not everyone's cup of tea but if you like the City this hotel would make a good base

We were pleasantly surprised by the high quality of this hotel. Naples is a bit worn compared to Rome, Florence or any of the larger cities further north. This hotel was completely renovated and is a breath of fresh air in this Quartiere. Our deluxe double room twas increadibly large and beautifully appointed. The bathroom was large with everything new and in perfect working order. The breakfast served was by far the most expansive we've had on our 2 week trip in Italy. Simply a great value for the money!

Room Tip: We had a room facing the Piazetta and heard no noise during the night, so I would imagine that all t...

Good location in Centro Storico, very well maintained, quiet at night (yes!) with nice decorating, and excellent modern lighting and plumbing (good sized shower with good water pressure, which isn't a given in Italy). There was very nice breakfast with excellent selection of cheeses including buffalo mozzarella, bracciola and wonderful pastries. However, don't expect WIFI. I asked whether there was something about our room and was told that it was as good as it gets, which was essentially useless. They gave me an Ethernet cable, which worked well with my PC, but of course is worthless with an Ipad. This is a good choice if you want to be in the Centro Historico. Keep in mind that nearly everything in that neighborhood is closed on Sundays.

Room Tip: 04 rooms (104, 204, 304, 404) are bigger with nice views

We went to the Palazzo Decumani due to Tripadvisor indications, and had no deception. A clean, large room, good breakfast, well situated.

Naples is a crazy city, but the Palazzo Decumani provides some tranquility amongst the stimulation! Set in the old part of Naples, you can walk anywhere you want within reason (say 20 minutes). We chose it for it proximity to Di Michaele and Di Matteo pizza restaurants, which are pretty much within 5 mins. Go there, the food is incredible.

The hotel itself is situated in a beautiful old building in a quiet location. The interiors are fairly standard for a good hotel, and not too many surprises. It didn't feel particularly authentic and rustic but as a first timer to the city i appreciated its familiarity. Don't expect amazing views from your window or anything like that though...what you see is Naples as it is, just what we wanted. Washing lines, mopeds, balconies of other flats etc.

Each evening we were treated to some extra nibbles and snacks (olives, tomato, cheese) at the hotel bar before we went out which was a nice touch. Breakfast was excellent with lots of fresh fruit, pastries, coffee, yoghurts, bread, juice. Possibly the best on our 2-week break.

Its the perfect place to have your first taste of crazy beautiful Naples.

PS: Expect to pay 20-25 euros from the airport including 4 bags in a cab.
