Luxury Villa Excelsior Parco
Ranked #3 of 40 Hotels in Capri
Certificate of Excellence

The entire Excelsior Parco Team made our trip to Capri one of the best trips we have ever been on. The hotel itself was extremely clean with some historic charm. We had a garden view room out onto the patio and could still see the ocean which was very unexpected! The hotel is in a very good location, close to the port as well as Capri, but with the assistance of Andres driving us around (included!) we could get everywhere very quickly and easily! The walk from Capri to the hotel was about a 20 min walk at a moderate pace, very doable. I cannot recommend enough this hotel, it was the highlight of our trip!!

What a fabulous hotel. Carefully and tastefully converted from a villa, it has just 11 rooms, of which the less expensive options are on the ground floor, which is where we stayed. Even these rooms have their own outside area.
Although the hotel is situated some 800 m downhill from Capri town, they provide a car and driver to ferry guests to and from the town or the port area between 9 a.m. and 9 pm daily. We were picked up from the hydrofoil on arrival, and returned to it on departure even though we set off before 7.30 in the morning. Extraordinarily helpful friendly and well-informed staff.
On arrival, we were shown to the splendid roof terrace and offered a drink (we chose a mimosa with freshly squeezed orange juice).
Breakfast is excellent and very fresh. You can also take your evening meal there, sitting outside in the delightful garden area. The menu is quite short, and the food of good (though not exceptional) quality. We ate there once and were given two lots of bruschetta each, together with a glass of Prosecco on the house, followed by a limoncello nightcap, again on the house. We were also offered free drinks while waiting for the driver and car to return from shuttling other guests into town. So very generous and considerate of them.
The roof terrace is magnificent, with fabulous views across the Bay of Naples, and there is even an outdoor Jacuzzi there if you're feeling brave.
Although there is no pool, the hotel has an arrangement with the local beach club. If the car is not available, there are buses from very near the hotel for getting into town.
All utterly marvellous, this was the right place to spend the last two nights of our trip. Five stars for everything.

We booked this hotel on the strength of the previous reviews and we were right to do so. The whole experience was outstanding. I can only echo previous reviews about the hotel and the wonderful staff. It isn't cheap but this is Capri and the hotel does represent a wonderful experience and is worth the cost. Once you are there drinks and food are reasonably priced and of excellent quality. Breakfast is excellent. The service is personal (there are only 11 rooms) and authentic. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Capri and we would certainly return there in the future.

Room Tip: We had a well appointed room with a large balcony with Jacuzzi, sun beds and a table and chairs situ...

I stayed at this hotel for a week in August with my husband and two daughters, ages 19 and 23. We had adjacent sea view rooms. Honestly there is nothing that we would change about our experience.

First - - the rooms. Immaculate. Beautifully appointed. Gorgeous tile floors, luxury linens, lovely terraces with views of the sea. My husband and I had a larger bedroom with a settee at one end and a larger bathroom than our daughters' room but either room would have been fine - -they were both so beautiful. Also , both rooms had mini bars, hairdryers, safes, anything you would want.

Second the hotel itself. Even though there is not a full service restaurant, you can really get just about any type of food you would want at any time of day or night. Despite the fact that this is a small boutique hotel with perhaps 12 rooms, there is a full time staff and kitchen that make you feel as if you are in a larger luxury hotel. Every morning a gorgeous breakfast is laid out in the dining room offering absolutely anything one could want to start your day. Anything from eggs to granola to caprese specilaties like tomatoes and mozzarella. Charcuterie, fresh fruit, grilled vegetables, it's all there and beautifully prepared. We never did this, but you could also order room service or have breakfast on the beautiful roof terrace. We always chose to breakfast on the charming patio adjacent to the dining room. The kitchen/dining room staff were always incredibly helpful, courteous, and professional. Whether it was bringing cup after cup of cappuccino, or mixing French 75's (and throwing in a fresh bruschetta for good measure) for cocktails before dinner, they were always asking what they could do or bring to you that would make your meal or experience better.

Third - -the staff. I leave the best for last. I've already mentioned the incredible kitchen dining room staff. About them I just want to add that they were the most hard working professional group that i have encountered in such a setting, never hovering but always available when you needed them, all with engaging personalities. always leaving you with the impression that they truly enjoyed their work. In addition, Andres, the gentleman who is the appointed driver on the property, was always available to drive us just about anywhere we needed to go on the island. This was an incredible and unexpected perk - - it was as if we had our own driver. Andres was an excellent driver, a consummate professional, incredibly elegant, we always felt safe with him and enjoyed trying to converse with him on our rides.

Finally, Viviana. I'm not sure what her position is at the hotel - - manager, concierge - - a little of both? Suffice it to say that whatever her official title, unofficially she was to us, both the face of the hotel and the heart of it. I say face because she was the person that I dealt with by email before we arrived. She always responded quickly and courteously to all of my questions and requests and made some dinner reservations for us in advance. So even before arriving I felt that I had a personal connection to the place. When we arrived in Capri, as Viviana had promised, we called the hotel and Andres arrived quickly to drive us up to the hotel. Since we were still a few hours from check in, Viviana greeted us with a welcome drink on the patio and then we went up to the roof terrace where we ordered a delicious lunch -- caprese salad -- you really can't get enough of those on Capri - - and the most elegant BLT any of us had ever seen.
Throughout our stay, it was Viviana who made the dinner reservations, the boat tour arrangements, any activity that we would want. She was incredibly knowledgeable about everything on the island and anticipated our needs. When we told her we were taking a long hike up to Mt. Solarno one morning , she disappeared into the back room and came back with four bottles of water which she knew we'd need (we DID)! She not only gave us the best dinner recommendations but when we arrived at each restaurant, we were ALWAYS shown to the very best tables. That can only be because she has fostered good relationships with these restaurants over the years. It is not often that you find in one person such a combination of professionalism and warmth. Viviana is truly a treasure and our visit would not have been the same without her.

We were so sorry to leave magical Capri, and plan to return the first chance we get. Without a doubt, we will book rooms again at the Excelsior Parco.

My friend and I came to stay at Hotel Excelsior for two nights and did not want to leave. Everything was fabulous and we were extremely well looked after. We had access to a driver who came and picked us up from the port when we arrived and he was able to drive us to main drop off points on the island, which made it really easy to get around. The staff were very professional and knowledgeable about Capri and arrange an amazing private boat tour around the island and a beautiful beach dinner on our last night. The room was clean and very comfortable and the bathroom was great. We had a massive spa bath on our balcony which looked out over the garden. The only disappointment was we didn't have enough time to use it! When we arrived we realised our passports were still in Amalphi and the staff arranged for them to be picked up and delivered to the hotel at no cost or inconvenience to us! We were very lucky to have found such a great hotel and had such a wonderful experience. Capri and Hotel Excelsior were defiantly highlights of our trip. We absolutely loved it and will be back. Thank you Shae and Zoe from Melbourne, Australia.

What a fantastic hotel this is! Excelsior Parco exceeded all our expectations. A small boutique hotel where ALL staff were friendly and made you feel so welcome.
The hotel is beautifully decorated with a really nice rooftop terrace overlooking the ocean. They provide a beautiful breakfast and even help to plan out your day on which sights to see etc.

We were lucky enough to get a complimentary room upgrade with a jacuzzi on the balcony when we arrived, which really was a lovely surprise!

Our experience at excelsior was so different to all the other hotels we have stayed at. Would highly recommend to stay here.
