“What a shame. Hotel let down by the rooms and the breakfast.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2013

We were shown to room 105 on the second floor.
It had a small double bed, a three door wardrobe and a two door dresser one with a fridge in and the other with two shelves.
We asked to be moved or upgraded but no rooms were available.
There was no safe in the room, after many complaints a safe was found and a member of staff put it into one of the cupboards. when I asked for it to be fixed in place it was as though I was mad, eventually the problem was solved.
THE BATHROOM:
DISGUSTING, old dated and dirty, the tiles were cracked, there was rust and peeling paint everywhere.
We spent as little time as possible in this excuse of a 4 star hotel room.
The breakfast was as good as the room!
The staff couldn't care less, they would keep you waiting for a table, and never looked at the buffet table to replenish any food.
The coffee was terrible. Three hot choices of fatty bacon, solid scrambled eggs and sausages.
There was no toaster which I think is a must in any breakfast room.
The pool area was good and so was the sun terrace. There were a dozen cheap sun loungers, with only half of them having mattresses. You had to go to the bar to obtain your towels.
This hotel could be really good, but was let down by a few cost cutting exercise by the management. This is certainly not a four star hotel.
As it is I will not return.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The rooms are very dated and small. We had no view other than a hedge. The location is good and close access to Capri Town. The pool and lounge area was very nice. Breakfast is typically Italian, so most Australians and Americans won't be raving about it. Free Wifi in the rooms was a bonus. If I was to return to Capri, I would not stay here. It is similar to a 3 star hotel in Australia.

My husband and i stayed her for 2 nights on a tour. The lobby and pool area are lovely, but the rooms were very dated and in need if renovating. Our "view" was directly into the toilets of the hotel pool next door. The globe was missing in the light of the bathroom mirror, and the shower was so small it was almost unusable. It was clean, but not up o the standard of what they claim to be a 4 star hotel. Location however was great. Breakfast on the first morning was good, but on the second morning there was no eggs, no bacon, no ham, no croissants or bread, no yoghurt etc. we had to keep asking for them to restock the buffet so that we could eat! Overall, disappointed.

If you get a room with a view of the water you are in for a treat. Clean, strong AC which is a must in the summer. Night staff sleeps on the job. Otherwise staff is helpful. Pool is beautiful but only open until 6 PM.

Room Tip: make sure you are not overlooking the back of the hotel. Some rooms are quite small.

While touring Italy, this was one of best hotels I stayed at. The rooms were huge (using European standards), the bathroom was fairly clean (the skylight needed to be cleaned) and the view was breathtaking. From our patio we could see the sea and cliffs. The location was great, but only for those who have no problem waling on cobblestone and up steep hills. The wifi was fast and available throughout the hotel.
My only complaint is the breakfast. There was no variety, only a few breads and canned fruit. They also had it set up on a tiny table which lead to a lot of pushing and shoving.

We spent 2 nights at La Residenza on a tour of Italy. The hotel was very nice and the location overlooking the Mediterranean was incredible.
We really enjoyed the bartender, Enzo, who was extremely helpful on what restaurants to go to and other sites to see. He also was patient while he tried to teach us a little Italian. It is people like this that make trips memorable.

Centrally located. Just steps from shops and restaurants. We got a large suite on the second floor right next to the breakfast room. The room overlooked the pool, deck and ocean. It was lovely. There was a big terrace (shared with another room but I don't think there was anyone there). The breakfast was varied with meats, breads, fruit, juices, baked treats. Another reviewer mentioned that the hallway lights hadn't been cleaned in a while, which is true, but as long as the bugs are up there and not in my room, it's all good. Other than that, the hotel is very clean. The lobby was larger than expected based on another review. A cute little bar in the back. The pool was closed so I don't have an opinion on that. All in all, would stay again if it was in the same room.
