“Like Dining with Family!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2013

While driving his rental scooter around the Island, my Son and his Fiancée Brandi discovered this place at Piccolo Marina and had a wonderful lunch there. After hearing his glowing review of the food, and how he quickly made friends with the owner and chef my wife and I decided to join him and Brandi for dinner there the next evening.

WOW, what a great experience!
We were greeted by the owner, chef and head waitress outside in the street as soon as we exited the taxi and presented with complimentary Prosecos. I asked what was fresh for dinner and the cook said he had some live Lobsters, which they proceeded to bring out for our inspection along with a tray of home made Pasta they just made which was infused with Arugula...it all looked great and I asked the chef to prepare it the way he would like it himself.

Well, the meals came out EXCELLENT! The chef is very talented in addition to being very funny and personable. The pasta was perfectly cooked al dente and dressed in a light cherry tomato/olive oil/garlic sauce served alongside the perfectly roasted Lobster. Washed it down with a couple of liters of their homemade house white wine, with sliced peaches in it, our meal was one of the best we ever had in Italy, it was just like being at home.

We posed for pictures with the owner and chef, enjoyed complementary Lemoncellos after dinner, and loved it so much that we went back for our final lunch on the Island 2 days later!

In fact, it was SO GOOD, and they people there were SO NICE that my Son and Brandi even went back a third time on their last day on the island! (they ate there 4 times out of 5 days)

DO NOT waste your time and money at the tourist traps at Marina Grande, take a ride over to Marina Piccolo and enjoy the BEST that Capri has to offer at Onda D' Oro!

“Lovely lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2013

We really enjoyed this restaurant with great sea views and friendly staff in Marina Piccola Capri.
We ordered pizza and seafood: all was beyond our expectations. The house white was quite good value. We were offered limoncello on the house both when we went in and when we left.
The price was more than decent for Capri.

“Glorious pizza, wonderful view, free parking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013 via mobile

My wife claimed to have the best pizza of our Italy trip. If you believe that you'll believe anything, but that is worth a 5* rating alone. In addition there is no parking down by the beach, but dump your scooter here all day in return for rumours of great pizza. And they were more generous with ice than any restaurant I've ever been to in the world. Two world-beating reasons to go there. If you need to park your scooter.

“wow - outstanding”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2013

This was probably the best restaurant for food and value in our 12 day trip to Italy. Including service, friendliness and setting, it is probably one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. We ate there twice (dinner doesn't seem to start till about 9 by the way, so check) and it has a view over Marina Piccolo. The waiters are friendly and helpful and made us feel 'special'. The fish is great and they can show you a choice of what they have on a tray brought to the table before cooking it. They brought a flatbread with sea salt and rosemary (lovely, a bit like a thin pizza base) to the table, plus normal bread and breadsticks - all gratis. It is primarily a fish restaurant, but I they have other things too.

The second time we went we had two glasses of prosecco, small bottle of water and mixed grilled seafood - huge, 6 or 7 different kinds of fish and shellfish and enough for two - including cover charge the bill was 54 euros - incredible value. It was superbly cooked and beautifully presented. I was amazed - expecting much higher prices in Capri (which there are at other restaurants). Highly recommended. I cannot understand how this fantastic restaurant could have any negative reviews. I have fresh fish at home almost daily (fishing is husband's hobby) so I think I know what I am talking about re fish quality and how it is cooked.

“CHEATERS!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2013

Reaching Onda' d Oro we met this wonderful man who was nothing but sweet talk.He insisted we have something out of his special menu.Considering nothing on his menu was above 10-15 euros we gave in and called for a fish he claimed was exceptional and lemon pasta. On recieveing the bill which we thought would not exceed 30 euros was actually 75 euros. The food was the worse iv ever eaten. Sorry to say the "exceptional fish" was worse than a rotten one. Worse experience in ever..the old man might speak wonderfully but can burn a hole in your pocket by cheating you outright with his pathetic food.

Be careful people..avoiding the place is a better idea
