While driving his rental scooter around the Island, my Son and his Fiancée Brandi discovered this place at Piccolo Marina and had a wonderful lunch there. After hearing his glowing review of the food, and how he quickly made friends with the owner and chef my wife and I decided to join him and Brandi for dinner there the next evening.
WOW, what a great experience!
We were greeted by the owner, chef and head waitress outside in the street as soon as we exited the taxi and presented with complimentary Prosecos. I asked what was fresh for dinner and the cook said he had some live Lobsters, which they proceeded to bring out for our inspection along with a tray of home made Pasta they just made which was infused with Arugula...it all looked great and I asked the chef to prepare it the way he would like it himself.
Well, the meals came out EXCELLENT! The chef is very talented in addition to being very funny and personable. The pasta was perfectly cooked al dente and dressed in a light cherry tomato/olive oil/garlic sauce served alongside the perfectly roasted Lobster. Washed it down with a couple of liters of their homemade house white wine, with sliced peaches in it, our meal was one of the best we ever had in Italy, it was just like being at home.
We posed for pictures with the owner and chef, enjoyed complementary Lemoncellos after dinner, and loved it so much that we went back for our final lunch on the Island 2 days later!
In fact, it was SO GOOD, and they people there were SO NICE that my Son and Brandi even went back a third time on their last day on the island! (they ate there 4 times out of 5 days)
DO NOT waste your time and money at the tourist traps at Marina Grande, take a ride over to Marina Piccolo and enjoy the BEST that Capri has to offer at Onda D' Oro!
