“Beautiful view”
Reviewed June 4, 2010

I stayed at the Weber Ambassador in September 2009. It was recommended by friends that stayed there the year before and I'm so glad we listed to their advise to stay here. The employees were GREAT and the view from our room was unbelievable!! The location is a bit off the beaten path, but they have shuttle service that will pick you up from the marina and take you into town.
They greet you with complimentary wine when you check in and every time we walked into the lobby they would pour us another glass!!!
You can walk down to the (rocky) beach from the hotel and the water is amazing & crystal clear here. We took the advise from the front desk and took a private boat tour of the island. The boat picked us up from the marina in front of the hotel and took us all around the island. It was by far my favorite thing we did while in Italy!!! I can't remember what we paid but I do remember it was a great value for it being a private tour!!!
The rooms are dated & nothing fancy, but everything else made up for this. The view from our balcony was priceless.!!

The Hotel Weber saved our visit to Capri when our orginal choice turned out to be not what we wanted or expected. The room was comfortable and spotless. The staff very friendly and helpful right from the glass of champagne handed to us as we walked in the door. The views were magnificent. The Weber is located on the side of the island away from the main port so is not as overrun with day tourists. The free shuttle to the town center runs every few minutes. Stay here!

We found the service at the Weber to be very friendly and accomodating, The location was great. with most beautiful and scenic views. Our time at the Weber and Capri was definately a highlight of our 14 day Italy vacation.

Due to a strike and poor weather we could not get a ferry to Capri. We called the hotel and they assured us they would sort it out the next day, and we should stay in Naples. The next day they assured us that we could get a refund through Expedia, all smiles. Of course, upon return it was a totally different story, and the hotel (dealing with the same individual who had been all smiles days before) refused to refund our money. Besides that the hotel location is good, but (desk) staff is very unfriendly and hygene very poor. For example we had an ant infestation in our bathroom. After asking repeatedly for someone to clear it out, they did so but when we came back they had basically left the dead ants lying around. Not a four-star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. If you go here - dont prepay your stay!

My friend and I had stayed at Hotel Weber at the recommendation of one of my friend. He and his wife had a wonderful time there. They also said that one of the selling point of this hotel was b/c of its closeness to the beach. This was also a hotel that we were looking forward to from viewing their websites, pictures & their 4 star ratings (as we've been staying at B & Bs). This was also the most expensive hotel that we had stayed at in our trip to Italy.

In coming into Capri, we called the hotel and they told us where to go to get into the shuttle. Upon checking into the hotel, we were greeted by the staff with wine (very nice). However, the staffs weren't very friendly (somewhat snobbish). We got checked in and went into our room. At first glance, it looks like a good room. We left our bags into the hotel and took off to go sight seeing. Before we left, we asked the staff (I think he's one of the assistant manager or manager) where the beach was. He said something about you can rent a boat. We told him that we want to know where the beach was. He gave us this look like he didn't understand us. So we gave up after a few tries and waited for the shuttle to take us to AnaCapri

The shuttle service was great. It was free and there was this a driver there that is very friendly (he's somewhat heavy set, & doesn't know much English but he is very professional). During the whole stay in Hotel Capri, this driver was the friendliest staff in this establishment!

Coming back into our hotel later on the evening, we went back into our room and found that our room is invested with mosquitoes. My friend and I was not happy after seeing how much mosquitoes there was (and neither was I - most of the mosquitoes were by the windows). Not one of us wanted to sleep on the side by the window. We ended up sleeping with our foot by the window (figured better our feet than our face). We also called the front desk and told them about the mosquitoes. Their solution? Giving us a can of mosquito spray! I was appalled. I was hoping that they would at least switch a room for us. So in the process of spraying the area, we get a phone call from the front desk. They said to not used much of the mosquito spray in case we over spray and get intoxicated by it. And we did not leave the windows open.

One good thing was that I had left my mp3 player in the hotel (Creative Zen) and didn't realize it. My friend and I was shopping in AnaCapri. In coming out of a shop, our favorite friendly shuttle driver came up to us and spoke Italian and hand gestures (of course, which we had no idea what he was saying or trying to relay to us). After about 5 minutes of not able to communicate, he called the Hotel and someone in the hotel told me that I had left my mp3 player there! He took us back to the hotel and back to AnaCapri.

Overall, the hotel was a very disappointing stay. The only up side is the friendly shuttle driver. :-)

Capri is a very cute town. I think if we were to do it again, we would stay in AnaCapri.

Back to the Beach - we did find it and it was very close to the hotel. A lot of steps but love how close it was to the hotel!

The hotel wasn't dirty. The mosquitoes made it dirty. The service was terrible but our shuttle driver was great. Location is good as it is by the beach.

We stayed her for 3 nights recently on our honeymoon. We were upgraded to a superior room which was lovely. Very roomy and an amazing view. The breakfast was fantastic. Lots to choose from. The staff were friendly and welcomed us and helped us with our daily queries. The shuttle bus into town is the best! It runs every 10mins and is so convenient. It would have been nice to have used the internet for free, rather than paying for it, but at least it was there in the lobby which was convenient. I would highly recommend it for the view and the shuttle bus alone. We also had a great time lying by the two pools each day.

Perfect hotel. Excellent location. Easy access to beach located below. Superb views. Hotel has a free shuttle which takes you into town for shopping or to the dock yard to get the ferry. The rooms are not beautiful, but they are clean and adequate. I would def recommend this hotel to someone. Actually, I already recommended it to a friend who stayed there this past summer. While in Capri make it a point to take a private boat tour of the island. You can reserve this at the front desk of the weber ambassador.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Weber Ambassador Hotel is a four-star luxury Capri hotel, right on the beach of Marina Piccola, the nicest of Capri Island. No beach in Capri isle and in the world is more fashionable and exclusive than Marina Piccola. This hotel is ideal for those who are looking for a totally relaxing holiday, in perfect harmony with nature and the sea, in a location well away from the bright, noisy and some time problematic Piazzetta, a very crowded place where all discos and night clubs are, and where thousand of young people spend the night in gangs. Although this is only 500 metres away, and can be reached using our free shuttle service, which runs every 5 minutes throughout the day and until 3.00 Am. From the terraces of the Ambassador Weber and from a number of the hotel’s bedrooms, sweeping views over the Bay of Marina Piccola, the Faraglioni rocks and Monte Solaro can be seen. For centuries this panorama has been inspiring writers and artists of worldwide fame, including Thomas Mann, Maxim Gorky and Frank Sinatra, all of whom stayed in the historic Pensione Weber. One of the oldest of the island’s establishments, the pensione is now a luxurious 4 star hotel. We won't offer you "3 for 2" or "5 for 3" nights like some Capri hotels do and in which, when you book and stay only one night because the place isn't inhabitable, they make you pay for the whole stay. We will never try to keep you prisoner for longer, if you do not like the place. We will give you a 96 hour cancellation policy, not 2 weeks which is the common cancellation policy in all Italian hotels. You can book a room at the Weber Ambassador Hotel through our booking system online or through 36 different Tour Operators. ... more   less
