This is the best hotel I've ever stayed in, bar none, anywhere in the world. Superb room, beautifully appointed, wonderful balcony, very luxurious. When we got into the room, my wife literally was overcome with how cool and gorgeous this hotel is. Breakfast was the best we’ve had during our travels in Italy, staff was very friendly and helpful, the pool is beautiful, and the location is very convenient to Capri town. It definitely is pricy, but for a special trip, I would spend the money again in a heartbeat. We only booked one night, but should have stayed at least two…

For anyone considering a trip to Capri—you should definitely stay one night—probably two. Lots to do and see, and the island is wonderful after the day trippers leave. Ask the hotel about the walk along the eastern coast to the Arco Naturale—one of the best walks I’ve ever had…

My family and I recently spent three fabulous nights at La Minerva. We reserved a double superior room and a double deluxe room. Both rooms had beautiful terraces which provided beautiful views of the island and the sea below. From the moment of our arrival at La Minerva, the staff was gracious, helpful and kind. Our bags were immediately whisked to our rooms and we were provided with an overview of the hotel amenities and some tips about the Isle of Capri. The rooms themselves were also fresh, clean and comfortable. With the clean white walls, floors and linens, the rooms had a definite Mediterranean beach feel. The beds were very comfortable, the TV had satellite service with multiple English channels and the bahthrooms were huge with full amenities. In the evening, there is a nice sitting area on the main level where a very nice man (whose name I cannot recall) serves drinks while you sit in front of the fireplace or lounge out on the terrace looking out at the beautiful views. The hotel is located just down the hill from the main town square and far enough away from the craziness of the daytime tourists to feel as though you have a private retreat. We arranged a private boat through the hotel during our stay and the boat captain was great. The hotel also recommended a restaurant called Isidoro which is just off the Square which was so good we returned almost every night during our stay. I would highly recommend La Minerva.

We were two couples who very much enjoyed our two water view rooms with large terraces on the -3rd floor. The side rooms are a bit larger than the middle room of the 3, but the middle room is perfectly adequate with king bed, ample closets, couch facing the view and chaises longues of rattan with thick cushions on the terrace. The bathrooms are of good size and very clean and modern.
The breakfast buffet on the top floor terrace was excellent and the views from breakfast were even broader than those from the rooms (which had a few beautiful pines with widely spaced branches so that they didn't detract from the view at all, depending upon one's attitude).
This was located an easy walk to the center or up to the taxi center in order to travel over to Anacapri.
Luigi, normally at reception, was very helpful and the regular morning waitperson, Camal, was always very upbeat, happy, friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, everyone speaks very good English so Italian wasn't necessary.
If you wish to stay in Capri, rather than Anacapri, this is a very nice, smaller hotel. They now have a new pool which is quite nice, although we didn't use it.
Their website which is quite accurate was a basis for choosing it along with reviews on TA. A friend, who is a top travel agent in SC, was able to book it favorably for us.
Nice quiet area just a short walk away from the hustle and expensive shops and good gelato places of CApri town center.

My wife and I stayed in Room 42 (Deluxe) for 7 nights and can honestly say this is the most comfortable, best service and enjoyable hotel we have ever stayed in. And we have travelled a lot all over the world.

All of the owner,'s Luigi, staff particularly Kamal, were outstanding. Luigi was very helpful in everything we asked, particularly ensuring that our check out, luggage, ferry arrangements, and rental car drop off in Naples occurred flawlessly.

Paying extra for the deluxe rooms is highly recommended as the larger room, walkin closet, huge deck with a view and just all around comfort was outstanding.

The hotel gives you complete privacy and a buffer from the busy streets of Capri during the day and then once all the cruise ship and day tripper tourists leave around 5 pm, you have a short walk to rub shoulders with all the locals and in town guests.

Linen service and beds are done twice a day including fresh towels each time. Breakfast on the rooftop deck or alternately in your room (no extra charge) is excellent. Complimentary internet.

The new pool area is very private and well done. Kamal will bring you a drink or snack when you are there. The pool is not heated (Luigi can explain the reason) so we used it only spareingly as the temperature was 68 Deg. F.

Our favourite restaurants (all walking distance) for good food, good prices and atmosphere were Il Geranio ( smart casual and fine dining, short walk 5 min.), Gemma Ristorante (family run, reasonable, great views, excellent food) just off the main Piazzetta west side, Al Grottino (small, family run, simple food and service but all very good) just of the east side of the Piazzetta and Da Tonino (neighbourhood Bistro, mostly locals, outdoor deck with top notch food) longer walk out towards Villa Jovis, but worth it. Perhaps lunch. We also had a very enjoyable lunch on the water at La Fontelina and then a boat taxi to Marina Piccolo. Recommend this for lunch at the Faraglioni Rocks.

An after dinner drink at the Quisisana Hotel Bar is a must since they have music every night (fabulous piano player and singer when we were there) and the people watching is fascinating. An expresso or glass of wine in the main piazzetta anytime is a must. We liked 5-6 pm.

Would we stay there again, absolutely and ask for the same room.

We stayed at La Minerva for two nights on our recent trip to Capri and LOVED it. The hotel is beautiful and the staff extremely accomodating. Luigi, who works the front desk, was very helpful. He offered tips on where to eat, made reservations for us and they were all tremendous. Our room was spacious, the bed was really comfortable, and the view was amazing. Complementary breakfast on the terrace was delicious. The pool was quiet and relaxing. We loved everything about it.

This was our second visit, we stayed there 4 years ago on honeymoon. Can't believe that it was even better than we remembered the last time. Agree with all the excellent reviews, they have it spot on! What an island, what people. It is the first time I have ever returned to a location I have previously visited, but honestly I will definitely be back ever couple of years. Well done to all the staff at La Minerva.
