“Best hotel on 5 week trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 25, 2013

My wife and I stayed three nights in Capri, and we bitterly regretted not staying longer here. The hotel is absolutely fabulous. The rooms are beautiful, with panoramic views of the sea, really friendly reception staff who are helpful, and give great suggestions, the breakfast is amazing (offering freshly made pancakes - and anyone who has stayed in Italy knows that this is a complete rarity), and the cleanliness is great. What makes this hotel so wonderful is all the small little touches. Every night, when the beds are turned down, you find a single rose on the bed. Really nice touch, that makes you feel that the hotel does care about you rather than as just another guest. They also made a number of recommendations like restaurants, boats to book for a tour of the island, walking tracks to take, and many others that were all correct and made for a thoroughly enjoyable trip. I would highly recommend anyone to stay at the hotel.

There are a lot of beautiful hotels on the island of Capri, and La Minerva is no exception. What distinguished this hotel for me during my four night stay, and so many other tripadvisor reviewers, was the quality of the service so happily provided by the tireless staff. The reception area was a beehive of activity, but Antonino always had time to answer my questions both in person or by e-mails sent for advice on the fly. Marco cooked and delivered excellent light meals when I requested room service, Luigi and Mariano were always around to pick up the slack, and Kamali was the breakfast maitre d' extraordinaire. NOTHING was too much trouble for any of them.

I also appreciated the truly international flavor of the guests. During breakfast I met Brazilians, Indians, Swedes, Canadians, Thais, Irish, Brits and fellow Americans who were also enjoying the beautiful weather of early April (after a March which I'm told was absolutely "brutto" with rainfall.)

My room was a gorgeous, calming blue and white, and I slept so much better than I had in Naples a few nights previous........sigh. Grazie mille a tutti!

Room Tip: My Superior room had a beautiful terrace which I thoroughly enjoyed. Off-season rates are extremely...

We stayed in this hotel twice over the past 2 years. First on our Honeymoon and then again on our First Anniversary. The hotel is IMMACULATE. The staff is exceptional. It is a family run hotel and you can tell by the atmosphere and the way everyone actually seems to care that you are having a good time.

When we arrived for our honeymoon we got a lovely bottle of complimentary champagne on to our room which was a really nice touch. As we were there in March the pool area wasn’t quite functional but Kumal made us an absolutely delicious tomato and prawn pasta with delicious red wine while we were waiting for our luggage to arrive from the port.

The second time we stayed they kindly gave up a free upgrade to a fabulous room with a walk in wardrobe, huge bathroom and all the bells and whistles.. We arrived late and were worried all they would have to offer us to eat would be pasta again which we wanted to avoid as we had a meal booked. As if by magic the only dish Kumal had available was a caprese salad and white wine- exactly what we had said to each other we wanted…

The turndown service in the night time is my favourite thing about the hotel. A fresh flower with a little note awaits detailing weather for the next day and some suggestions of things to do, candles are lit and nice music is playing on the TV. Very small touches but they are what make all the difference.

The breakfast is fabulous and served on the terrace with fresh cakes and treats prepared daily

Antonio is super helpful. This hotel is chic and its feels modern but very classic with an atmosphere that cannot be described,

Be aware it is very very small, not a big fancy luxurious hotel but a quality small boutique hotel.

I really, really hope to return again soon and would never entertain the thought of recommending someone to go to Capri unless they stay here....this hotel is part of the magic of Capri and I feel if we had stayed anywhere else we would not have enjoyed Capri half as much:)

This adorable hotel was rated #1 for a reason. Our room was spacious and beautiful, and every evening they turned down the bed and lit candles upon our arrival from dinner. The setting is beautiful. The staff is charming, especially Antonino, who helped us with all of our needs and always with a smile.

Sometimes you stay at a memorable place you will never forget, and La Minerva is it. From the moment you step through the doors, you are treated like royalty. We secured three rooms for our family and were all placed next to one another on the third floor. As we settled in there was a knock on the door and this wonderful man, Carlo, came in with refreshing drinks and a variety of pastries for our enjoyment. The hotel rooms looked over the sea with huge covered terraces. The hotel serves an amazing breakfast on its rooftop! You can also go up there at night to use the telescope. The pool area is well-maintained and also looks over the sea. One afternoon we ordered drinks and the "light" lunch poolside. It was delicious and filling. Wait until you set eyes on the rooms.
This is a family owned and operated establishment carefully orchestrated by Antonino, who truly enjoys people. His attention to detail is par non. You will fall in love.

Room Tip: There are gym privileges included. Ask for a third or fourth floor accommodation overlooking the sea...

We spent 2 nights at this amazing hotel and wish we could have spent a few more! From the minute we got off the ferry, the staff was there to help us in every way possible. They were amazing right from the start, offering us drinks and telling us all we need to know about the island. They made us feel right at home, always greeting us and asking us about our day. Breakfast was a real treat up on the beautiful terrace with the amazing view overlooking the ocean. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. I honestly cannot say enough about this place! All I know is that I will most certainly be coming back in the future! Thank you so much for everything!

This hotels facilities are wonderful. Even the walk from the Dock in Capri along the path to the hotel is gorgeous. The rooms and decor of white and blue are so calming and add to the effect of being in such a beautiful place. We loved our palm frond covered patio with a view of the sea. The only complaint and I even hate to mention it, is that the clientele serving our breakfast outside our room at our own little table were not very friendly or engaging. We felt maybe they just wanted to get it done. Yet all else was so wonderful we were able to overlook that deficit.
