My husband and I were completely enchanted by the hotel, its ideal location, the gifted staff and the top-notch service.  Initially, we were looking to stay at the Quisisana (sister property of La Scalinatella) but it was completely booked for our last-minute getaway.  I was thankful for our "misfortune."  We found the location of the Quisisana to be too central and in a plaza through which swarms of day tourists pass; in contrast, La Scalinatella's location, while still close to Via Camarelle, is quiet, serene and romantic.  We savored the short, peaceful route every evening back to our luxurious hotel room - we stayed in a Deluxe Room which was meticulously serviced twice a day.  Extra perks: two full-service pools; custom toilettries that smell heavenly; premium slippers; generously-sized bathrooms with oversized soaking tubs; and over-the-top made-to-order breakfast for which there are NO stringent hours for eating - when you're a guest at Scalinatella, you're on "Capri time." (I owe my namesake to Melania for clueing me in.) Even if there are other properties on the island with "nicer" rooms, I'm returning because of the staff which consistently made us feel like family - we didn't want to leave!  Gennaro is incredibly warm, attentive and gracious.  Nevertheless, Maurizio, Antonino, Melania ("Melanie") and Franco are all professional, warm, attentive and proactive, consistently delivering gracious service - all wonderful and talented individuals.  Thank you Scalinatella team for your dedication to superior service and all your hard work - including all the labor behind the scenes!  Can't wait to visit the Scalinatella family next time!

No other staff & service compare to this. We were instantly made to feel special & the staff remembers everything about you. Capri is expensive but worth every penny! Not once did we feel neglected or taken advantage of. Gerardo was so fantastic to our family & so was Melanie. Beautiful rooms, beautiful views & verandas. Nothing left undone at this hotel, they have thought of everything! Our teens room adjoined ours & it had 2 full bathrooms. Huge rooms and perfectly cleaned white tile floors. For sure eat lunch by the pool, awesome food & service. Very quiet also, not full of people like in town was but close enough to town that you can partake of all that if you want to. The staff arranged for our transfers from Naples train station to ferry to hotel, we also did the reverse & once again they did it flawlessly. We have stayed in the worlds finest but this one is the best of the best! So happy I switched our reservations from the Ceasar Augustus, it's very isolated & I feel sure cannot compare to Scalinatella.

My husband and I spent the weekend here and had an amazing experience! Absolutely zero complaints and words can't do the staff's friendliness and professionalism justice. Especially Genardo who was always such a pleasure and very helpful. There is not a spa on property, but the hotel makes reservations for you at one of their sister properties, which is only a 5 minute walk away. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and we hope to visit again!

Beautiful small luxury resort with a nice view of the coast. Service excellent, with staff very attentive and professional in satisfying every request. Breakfast on a small balcony with breathtaking view. Rooms are very clean, most of them with private terrace. There is also a small swimming pool for guest. The area is very quiet and you can walk or hike easily to punta tragara or to Marina Piccola.

We stayed in this hotel for seven nights and we were very pleased by the great service of the friendly staff.

The hotel is pretty small and is situated at a very good location just outside the centre (2 min walk). The views are marvelous. The rooms are nice and cleaned twice per day.
