Ask a local, and you will be pleasantly surprised! While shopping in Anacapri, the shop owner recommended Verginiello. She said "It has a very good kitchen" and she was right. You see mostly locals eating here - more than 90%. The service is very good. They speak some English, but no problems understanding what you want. Even has a nice view. Price was very reasonable for the meal. The food was very tasty and well prepared. Went for dinner three times during our extended stay on Capri. The price averaged 60 - 80 euros depending on your courses and wine. The house wine was adequate. Only 6 euros a bottle. A litre of water was only 3 euros. Between all the meals, we had their deep fried mixed hot appetizer. Pasta with anchovies was outstanding. Pasta with eggplant and mozzarella. Octopus with potatoes and brown gravy. Grilled Red Snapper. Grilled St. Peter fish with sliced potatoes. And another grilled local fish which we neglected to get the proper spelling of. All the dishes were delicious.
The fairest prices to quality on the island!. If you are on a budget, and even if you are not, this restaurant is worth the visit. De.finitely make a reservation. It fills ups very quickly after 7:30 PM.
Just walk along Via Roma to the Post Office. Go down about two flights of steps in front of the Post Office and you will find it on your left.
