I contacted Captain Marcello and booked a 3 hour outing, on his boat, which fits up to 12 people! There were 7 of us and plenty of room for all of us to lay out, lounge, sit and walk around. He stopped a few times and we all were able to jump in the sea and enjoy the crystal clear waters around the island! We visited the Blue Grotto, and he knew all of the tour guides, so our trip inside the grotto didn't involve any waiting! (There is a 14 Euro charge to that guy.) Captain Marcello provides towels and waters for us, but we had packed pizzas and beer and wine and we all had a great lunch! He took us to the Green Grotto and the White Grotto as well! He's very informative, as he was born on the island! He is WONDERFUL!! I wouldn't waste my money on a tour, as this was over and beyond anything you could find! Can't wait to return and book him for the whole day!

A great company who looked after us so very well. Our guide was able to tell us so much about the area and took us to some great swimming spots.
Unfortunately I was extremely sea sick, but this was not a problem, the captain returned me to the harbour and then continued to take my friends on the rest of the tour. They did not charge us for the extra time of having to take me back. Water, coke and wine was provided on board for the four of us.
They provided a comfortable ware to sit and towels also.
A fun day out......

PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING WITH THIS SKETCHY COMPANY!!!

My sister and I booked a 4 hour boat tour through Blue Sea Capri for 250 euro based on the reviews I read on both the company website and TripAdvisor. I figured, based on the majority of positive reviews, this would be a great way to spend July 4th and for a great price! Boy was I wrong.

The company's website and my confirmation email promised me a Apreamare Gozzo 7.5mt, which on the website stated included a changing room and shower on board. My reservation also included an English-speaking captain, beach towels on board, as well as snorkeling masks and floats to swim with. The website word for word states "Included: island tour by gozzo boat with visits to the sea caves along the coastline, optional stop at the Blue Grotto, stops to swim, mineral water in the minibar, aperitivo "Blue Sea Capri" with snacks, awning and padded sun deck, beach towels and snorkeling masks, floaters and life savers to swim with ease, fresh-water shower, changing room and wc (only on the Apreamare 7.5 mt gozzo), English-speaking skipper, life jackets and safety equipment, insurance." We received a fraction of this. Let me just give you some insight on what we ACTUALLY received.

We were staying on the Island of Capri, so we arrived to the meeting place stated on the reservation at Marina Grande pier "Pennello" outside the Ristorante I'Approdo. When we arrived, there are no signs or any employees from Blue Sea Capri company, and there was no one waiting for us. Our tour started at 1100, so it was quite unprofessional to not have our captain ready when we arrived. We called the number on the reservation and Marcello, our supposed captain, answered and asked if we were calling about the 2pm boat tour. I informed him that our tour was to start at 1100, and he then promised to meet us in "two minutes." Marcello arrived a few minutes later, and I immediately recognized him from the photo on my reservation. He spoke relatively good english and appeared pleasant. Marcello then ushered my sister and me down the pier and introduced us to our captain. I was confused, because my reservation stated that he (Marcello) would be our sailor for the day. All of the reviews I read raved about him. Our captain appeared friendly, so we continued down the pier to our boat...one that we DID NOT reserve. I thought, maybe I got something wrong? As we set off on our tour, I quickly realized Marcello did not grant us with what we actually reserved. However, we were in Capri, on the 4th of July, so we figured we may as well enjoy the opportunity anyway, and I would ask Marcello upon our arrival back to the port.

We boarded the boat that was nothing close to clean. The white "beach towels" were dingy and the boat included a cooler with water bottles and a bottle of wine. As we began to depart, I told our captain that we did not wish to visit the Blue Grotto and he then informed me that he did not speak english. He then continued to use Google Translate throughout the tour to tell us about spots around the island. This was a huge red flag. He sat at the back of the boat, smoking, and occasionally would pour us wine into small plastic cups throughout the duration of the tour. He even proceeded to use our beach towels to wipe his sweat as we were in the water. Gross and unprofessional.

As the tour continued, we learned the boat did not have any floats (we had to swim from the boat into the grottos and caves without anything) and did not include any masks. When I asked, the captain offered me the life saver attached to the side of the boat. A couple hours into the tour, we passed another boat with a Blue Sea Capri logo that looked identical to the boat we were supposed to be on. Just further validation that we did not get what we reserved.

We arrived back to the pier at 1445, shorting our tour about 30 minutes considering we did not leave on time due to no one meeting us at the pier at 1100. This is where things get EXTREMELY sketchy. My reservation states "Valid credit card details are only required to guarantee the booking. Payment will be made in person." As we begin to disembark, our non-english-speaking captain prompts us for payment. I count out 250 euro for him and we hand him an additional 20 euro for tip. We say thank you and head to get lunch on the island. As we arrived to our restaurant and I connect to wifi, I received a notification from my bank regarding a charge made by Blue Sea Capri around 0930 the morning of our tour... BEFORE we even began the tour. Had I known this I would NOT have ever handed our captain any cash on board. I called Marcello immediately and he acted as if he knew nothing of the sort. After about three phone calls of being "disconnected," Marcello agreed to meet us at the pier to give us the cash back.

When my sister and I arrived at the pier, we had to call Marcello AGAIN to meet us. He arrives and tells us we are going to meet the captain, who surprise surprise "does not remember" me handing him any cash except the 20 euro on board. We told Marcello that he was lying, and Marcello proceeded to call ME "crazy" and that it was "impossible" that his captain took the money. I find it very ironic that he remembered the 20 euro that he was given after the 250. I told him that I would then cancel my bank charge to get my money back and he proceeded to yell after my sister and I as we walked away. Marcello then offered to go to the ATM nearby and return me my money. At the ATM, he continues to argue with us about the money and hands me only 200 euro. I told him that this is not what I paid and he told me that I only paid him 180 euro. Another lie. He then proceeded to look up my reservation to then discover that he was WRONG. Ironically enough, the non-english-speaking captain could remember my name and run after me to tell me IN ENGLISH that he doesn't remember anything and that I could "search him for the money."

In short, these two men tried to take advantage of the fact that my sister and I are young women who fell victim to their scam. LESSON LEARNED. I would pay double the price for what we got to not ever have to deal with this company again. I now have my bank monitoring for any additional charges, because these men are nasty crooks. There are PLENTY of other boat companies in Capri to get the fantastic boat tour you are looking for and for a great price....just don't book this one. It's not worth it even in the slightest.

We find ourselves forced to reply to this public defamation in order to defend the Blue Sea image. First of all, we want to clarify that we are very sorry for the unpleasant event, because our main goal is to guarantee a satisfying experience to our customers. Coming straight to the point, we have to say that the captain has never received the amount of 250€ in cash: if the payment had been made, the customer would have received a receipt, as proof. Moreover, for a business totally based on tourism, it would be absurd to try to cheat a customer in this way, damaging a very good reputation in such stupid way. Anyway, although it was clear that the customers were trying to "act smart", Marcello decided to briefly close the matter by returning the money back to the costumers. Next time you want to take a tour for free, try to ask first :) --

The tour was wonderful, not just because of the beautiful places we saw. The captain Marcello was great, we were. They also provided towels, snacks and drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic). We recommend to everybody, and we hope we can do this tour with them again.

My wife and I took the 4 hour tour with Marcello. Marcello is skillful with the boat, makes lots of stops at various Grottoes, provided wine and snacks, stopped for a swim, all for an unforgettable day.
