“Great Location..Capri at its finest”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2013

This is an old grand hotel, the location is perfect.. right in the center of town. The staff are also helpful and address you by your name..This is a pricy hotel, a bottle of water by the pool is 10euros. The rooms are large and adequate, nothing special. The showers are small. Don't get me wrong, its a great hotel just not new and modern with amenities associated with a new 5 star hotel..Don't have lunch at the hotel, its expensive and not good..The food in the restaurant is far from delicious and a rip off.. but its a scene.. so if that is what you are looking for..enjoy. I guess it sounds like the hotel wasn't perfect... but it was.. just know what you are getting.. Old style means a bit run down..the carpets are worn, the hotel had grandeur..The views, the ambiance is what you are paying for.. If you want a perfect new room.. this is not the hotel for you.. go to JK Place if its a boutique 5 star hotel you are looking for.. But know ..nothing compares to this location..

If you can, you must stay here and be part of a legend. Incredible views, pool, dining.. amongst the jet setters.. evening drinks on the terrace on the street is a nice way to start your evening. watch out for the paparazi..

Room Tip: try for a room with a view.. obviously. This is a much sought after hotel, so good rooms are taken...

I booked one night at Q and changed it to 2 after a day there. We love Quisi! The rooms are beautiful, dreamy beautiful. The perfect colors, beautiful drapery, gorgeous tile, ridiculously nice bathroom amenities. Terraces and views unbeatable. Reception staff (particularly Marta!) fantastic. The location is perfect, in the center of everything and still so quiet and lovely when you walk through the glass doors. Breakfast was excellent. Concierge was v helpful. They made our dinner reservations, they booked our ferry departure and arranged for luggage and tix to be at the port when we took the funicular down in the morning. They got us chairs at da luigi beachclub at 2 in the afternoon on a beautiful beach day. They are a great resource. Take advantage of all this. The downside... And I mention them because at these rates do you expect babies in diapers in the pool? Or getting splashed by toddlers during pool "quiet hours?" I was quite surprised by the number of children and the daycare atmosphere at the pool. Pool service is interesting. Marco is in charge and he does a great job w what he has to work with. If I were going to spend the entire day at the pool my first order of business would be to tip him, and aggressively. Drink service is slow. But we weren't there to have days at the pool, just quick dips after days on the water so it was ok. We were quite surprised to be woken up our first morning by loud talking in the hall outside our room. I assumed it was some mogul making a business deal. I'm at Quisi, right? An hour later when we left the room I learned it was the elevator repair man. So it was at 830am, not 7 am, I could deal with it. And we were getting up anyway! I think quisi is a place you have to experience. If planning an active capri visit stay here. If planning a poolside retreat, I regretfully suggest you might want to consider other options, but don't rule it out!

We were told to stay at the Quisisana because we were looking for a hotel with a vibe and that was in a good location. I'll start off by saying that the Quisisana is in the best location. The hotel is also one of the oldest in Capri and has an element of prestige too it. The grounds are very well kept and the service at the front desk, concierge and staff was all excellent.

What lets this hotel down is the following: We stayed in the entrance category room and the beds were very uncomfortable. It felt like staying at Grandmas house, seemed like the beds were not updated in many years. The bed was two small single beds joined together and our legs hung off the bed. I can not understand why a 5 star establishment like the Quisisana would have beds like this. Next are the showers. The showers are in the bath, and there is a small cyclindrical cubicle that you pull to wrap around yourself and you can hardly move. You can not even pick up the soap if you drop it. Again I do not understand why a hotel like this would install showers like this, that are so un-luxurious and not comfortable. Finally the breaksfasts were very average. Honestly some 4 star hotels and motels put on a better breakfast spread. The had very few cereals, scrambled eggs with a few sides, fruit, yoghurt and pastries. Nothing out of the ordinary or special. They did have a menu with other eggs you could order that was not included.

What makes the Quisisana special is the Quisi bar that is located int he front of the hotel that you can do fabulous people watching. The cocktails although expensive are really good, and they serve some great nibbles to go with it. There is a great vibe there.

What amazes me is the amount of people who keep on returning back to this establishment even though all the above that I have mentioned. The Quisisana has fabulous grounds, is an institution and a scene that is quite infectious and I believe people tend to overlook the bed, shower and breakfast which is odd considering these are important items we look for when staying in a hotel. One thing to note is that the other rooms, that are in a higher category have a better shower and larger beds.

Room Tip: Do not choose the entrance category room based on the above.

Capri is already a magic place. Staying in Quisisana is enjoy the best of what Capri has to offer.
The location in the isle is superb, in the middle of Piazetta's cute streets, walk distance to great restaurants and points of interest.
The room, service, the bar at the entrance balcony and breakfast by the pool is something that will always be on your memory.

This is a beautiful centrally located hotel. Excellent maid service and the high floor suite we had has a view of the distant sea. The room and amenities were excellent. The poolside pizza and food are very good. The breakfast buffet is excellent.

Understand though that this is a family hotel despite any other comments. By that I mean that the concept that children are to behave around the pool in consideration of adult guests is NOT enforced or respected. The 2pm to 5pm adult only time is NOT enforced and at 5pm all hell breaks loose. The kids scream in the pool in the morning and after 5pm, if not earlier. Loud games of annoying "Marco Polo" are ignored by the pool staff. This makes relaxation around the ample sized pool for childless adults a great difficulty. The pool staff are more interested in their cell phones.

If you are going with your kids it's a great place. If you love hearing babies screaming bloody murder in a pool or groups of loud kids screaming in the pool it's for you. I will not return without a juvenile entourage. My wife and I will stay at elegant quiet Punta Tragara or Caesar Augustus next time. Twice at the Quisi was enough for us.

Room Tip: high floor junior suites-3 and above floor.
