Open from 9AM - 1PM. Its a steep walk (about 30 mins) but worth it, I think entrance fee was only 2Eur.

I'd recommend going earlier in the day (we got there around 10) to avoid too much heat and the crowds which we noticed started coming in as we were headed up on our way back. We went to Lo Sfizo on our way back as other reviewers said and its a great treat after the walking

Closes around 1ish so check times .. we went for a walk late afternoon up to Villa Jovis but was closed . we did sneak in round the back at an open part of fence . Obviously others do this regularly as path was well worn . We just had a quick walk around and enjoyed the amazing views ..

The walk to Villa Jovis is much easier than the walk to the Natural Arch. If you are not up to an arduous walk, then the walk to Villa Jovis is the next choice. No steps and it is not as steep of a walk. This again will take about 45 minutes to walk to, but well worth it. Villa Jovis though, does close at 1:00pm. So beware of that and ensure that you leave the main piazza by 11:30, the latest.

It's a bit of a climb -- though not via stairs -- from the center of town but the remains are fascinating and the views are stellar. Admission fee is small.

Very steep walk and a lot of steps. Beautiful scenery along the way. Island views are breath taking from the ruins. We knew very little about where we were going, we just started walking! Once we got there we found out they should have been closed by afternoon, but the caretaker was still letting in a few people and told us we could have 20 minutes to look around. You do not see much unless you can actually get in. It is all fenced. There is a charge of a couple of euros. Another young couple was unaware of that and had not brought any money with them. It's disappointing if you make the hike and can't get in due to hours or money, so get any information you can before you go. There is at least a bathroom outside the gate. (assuming you are drinking water along the hilly walk). I wish we had read more about Villa Jovis before going so I knew what I was looking at. It was all pretty interesting and well preserved.
