I couldn't say enough about the meal I had at this restaurant. It is a little hard to find, but definitely worth looking! Everything from the prosciutto e melon and caprese salad all the way through the limoncello was the best I had throughout my travels in Italy. It was suggested to us by Ester who works at Fiorucci and is a lifelong resident of the island. She insisted we try this place and it did NOT disappoint. The house wine was phenomenal and Marco's entertainment was even better! EAT HERE!

We came across this restaurant while looking for another. The restaurant we'd been looking for turned out to have closed down (just as well perhaps) and Michel'angelo was right next door. Since we were there (it's located in a narrow side alley, you have to know it's there) we decided we'd try it - it was lunch time and we were hungry. Looking in through the doorway we saw a table with about 10 people, so we thought "the place is popular and full, must be good..."

Once we'd gone inside however, we discovered that the table we'd seen was the only table with diners, the rest of the restaurant was empty! Very clever, we thought, filling that table (the only one visible from the street) to give the impression the place was popular.

In fact, we quite enjoyed our food and the staff were friendly and welcoming, if a little awkward at first. We had a bean soup (good!), a cheese ravioli with a light lemon sauce (nicely done and quite delicate), and a "Capri Sausage" which was a bit unexpected: the sausage had been chopped up and served with a bed of heavily-cooked broccoli and melted cheese. Interesting, but rather heavy for lunch, and very salty. There was also a gluten-free spaghetti with a garlic and chilli sauce which was pretty good.

For dessert a Tiramisu, which was ok, but not particularly good or memorable.

The coffee was excellent, and the house wine - served in enormous glasses, making about a 250ml serving, was surprisingly good and excellent value. Complimentary Limoncello finished the meal.

The menu is very complete, as is the wine list. The restaurant ambience leaves a bit to be desired; it's a bit bland. There's no view and you feel a bit like you're sitting in an unused 1980's disco or club - sounds odd, but that's what it felt like. The service is good, and some English is spoken. The chef came to our table at the end of the meal to ask if anything had been wrong with the spaghetti (the person who'd ordered it hadn't been able to eat much of it having filled up on the bean soup); we took that as a good sign that at least they cared enough to check.

The bill came to 91 euros for three people, including tax and service. Not great value, but not bad for Capri I suppose.

The owner greeted us with a huge smile as we came in, just the start to such warm service and great experience that felt more like eating in a small town trattoria than chic and aloof capri. Food was incredible. Egplamt parmesan tasted so fresh and full of lovely tomato flavor. Our waiter reached outside the window and plucked us a tomato to taste. Complementary bruschetta started us, with a glass of their own estate wine. Lovely fresh fish!!
What a fun time and fantastic food at good prices. Not fancy and no people watching, just real italy.

Capri is expensive, and eating out there can feel a bit of a rip off (Italian food being generally very nice anyway, even when lower cost), so this restaurant was a great find. We started with complimentary bruschetta and finished with complimentary limoncello; no scrimping on service despite the fact we were only buying one dish each and having non-alcoholic drinks. We ate the taralli in the bread basket so quickly we were brought a second basket. The menu is traditional Caprese food, so no pizza, but very nice pasta - I had the salt cod pasta which was the nicest meal I had over my whole stay in Italy. We were late to eat (about 9-10pm) so the restaurant was quiet but the service was friendly and personal and value for money was excellent - the cost would not have been out of place on the mainland but with all the charm of Capri.
