“Wonderful Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2013 via mobile

Sorry, but disagree with the previous review about the rooms and view.. Yes, the rooms aren't huge, but sitting out on the terrace, looking down over Sorrento with a glass of cold wine, was worth the extra money for a room with a view.. The staff were great.. So attentive.. Nothing was too much trouble.. Please do not miss the small local restaurant.. Eaten there twice and really upset it doesn't open on a Monday!!!

Gentile Ospite,

We stayed at the Hotel Prestige in Sorrento -

It was a beautiful hotel in the hills of Sorrento - I wish I was still there! The staff were like family and the hotel was immaculate. I hated leaving Maria and her husband Roberto - they made our time there so special! The shuttle bus between the hotel and the town was great! Our room had a balcony that faced the Bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius - I could not have asked for a better place to stay!

stayed here for 4 night in early July, the staff are amazing and make your stay here great, the location of the hotel is on a busy room which is noisy when on you balcony or in you room. the balcony rooms are right on the road, the romantic rooms on the 2nd floor are more like mini prisons, the rooms are small when you open the doors onto your not so private terrace you are enclosed in a fenced area with no views, then you go onto the not so private terrace and the first thing you see is the busy road then the large car park then the view beyond. all the views from the public areas are very nice. please do not pay extra for a room with a view as it is not worth it. I did complain to the staff and I did get a discount as the room was not as expected. I would not stay at this hotel again, it is only the staff that make it, it is more like a uk Motel rather than a hotel. please feel free to ask for my private pictures of the rooms and views from our mini prison

Room Tip: book a standard room as all rooms with a view are on the main road, and the view from them is not ve...

Dear Guest ,

We thank you for having been our guest, but are really sad to read your offensive opinion concerns the Hotel . Every year we welcomes approximately 10000 people coming from all the world, and no one in 5 years has expressed an opinion like that .
As you have wrote ,it looks like that you have not “ digested” the thing that we have not accepted your request to leave the Hotel in advance without pay any penalty . The same cancellation penalty that you have accepted when you have subscribed your reservation .
You have so badly accepted this matter to feel free to describe our Hotel as a prison and Uk Motel . We are regret to inform you that your revengeful opinion doesn’t bother us, rather we laugh about it. Our Hotel boasts a view, among the most suggestive scenery of Sorrento Peninsula, as we are located on the highest point of Sorrento.
As the Physics teaches us : more up you are located, largest is it the spectrum of the view.
We believe that all our online sales pages are clear and limpid, mostly honest in the sight of who buy services, for this reason we say that if the hotel was not as you have expected it, it is due by its superficiality in to looking photos, review and information, rather than our unclear clarifications.
This is justified by the fact that thousands of guests never have created these problems and have never defined our structure as a prison.
Anyway we thank you again for being our guest and for sharing your opinion even if we think that is really disputable.

My friends and I stayed in Hotel Prestige last September. We absolutely loved it. It is a decent bus ride to town but they have a mini bus to take you back and forward at scheduled times. The local bus comes past if you want to go to Amalfi and Positano. The hotel was spotless with beautiful breakfast and stunning views. We went to "their" restaurant in the mini bus, the food was nice. However just down the hill on the left hand side is a gorgeous little cafe where all the locals go. It's not fancy, just basic crockery and table cloths, but the food is absolutely delicious and cheap (so was the wine) we ate there 7 nights in a row. All the food is fresh and produced on site. So Hotel Prestige was amazing all round. Highly recommend

Room Tip: Rooms with a balcony that overlook the water are stunning.

The jewel of Hostel Pristige is Maria and her husband. We arrived at a busy time when Maria was multitasking with greeting guests, answering the phone, and making tour/travel arrangements for many guests at once. She answered many questions (and many the same questions) for all of us, giving each individual personal welcoming services with utmost professionalism. The hotel has arrangements with two restaurants and you can bill your meal without any extra surcharge directly to your hotel room. They provide a convenient shuttle bus to Sorrento and to the restaurants. Of the two restaurants, we preferred Rifugio over the Panorama, but both were good. We caught the bus to the Amalfi coast. We have visited this region in years past, so we chose to walk a portion of the "Path of the Gods" high atop the villages. We highly recommend that travelers research this and take this scenic path. The views are breathtaking and well worth the hiking effort. The 1700 stairs down to the town of Postiana were NOT a terrible trek as some suggested. Hotel Prestige offers a wonderful buffet breakfast with numerous fresh beads, cakes, fruit, yogurt, juice, and even bacon and eggs. You may request espresso and cappuccino coffee. While you are not in the Almafi coast towns, this hotel is extremely convenient, especially to those traveling by car. The hotel provides free parking and then you are able to take advantage of their shuttle services.

What a great small hotel with fantastic views over the bay-stayed 3 nights. Service is fantastic-reception, bar and everyone was so friendly. Standards are excellent throughout from the pool to the gardens and rooms with good free wi-fi and private sitting out areas. Location is 25 minutes out of Sorrento but a great regular morning and evening free hotel mini bus service to Sorrento or to two local restaurants for dinner were always on time. There is a local public bus stop outside the hotel which can take you to Amalfi and Postiano which is advisable as parking is almost impossible in these towns.. We arrived late -nearly midnight and staff rustled up a snack and drinks very quickly. Great location for touring the area by bus, local train from Sorrento to Herculeam or Pompei or hire car if you can be bothered with the roads and Italian driving and lack of signposting. Take the hotels advice and dont use sat -nav to try and find it-It cannot cope with the hairpin bends-get a good map if you have a hire car. Would highly recomend this hotel for its comfort, location if you want somewhere a bit quieter than being in Sorrento itself but easy to go in for the day or evening.Breakfast good and oom/pool service first class and very reasonably priced.

Room Tip: Standard rooms are to the back and are away from the road with no view over the bay but good private...

Just spent six days at Hotel Prestige using it as a base for our Amalfi Coast holiday. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful, from organising a free shuttle from the station to suit our arrival time, to giving advice on getting around to the various places we wished to visit. Many thanks to the receptionists for suggesting taking the boat back from Amalfi to Positano - a great way to see the Amalfi coast from a different angle, and also advising us to spend a little more time in Positano than we had originally planned. We ha a lovely walk along to the beach at far right of the town. Easy to catch the bus for the coast towns as it stops right outside the hotel. The free regular shuttle bus provided by the hotel made it easy to get in and out of Sorrento although if the timing did not suit it was no problem to take the SITA bus.
The swimming pool was great for cooling off after a long day sightseeing and although the hotel seemed quite full, the terrace and pool never seemed crowded - plenty of room for all.
Everywhere was extremely clean and the breakfast had plenty of choice. Views from the hotel were spectacular.
Can highly recommend both the local Pizza restaurant (where you have views of both Bay of Naples and Amalfi side) and Jl Rifugio (one of the two restaurants where the hotel provides a shuttle) if you want something more formal.
A big thank you also to the hotel for the bottle of Prosecco and birthday cake which was a lovely surprise. All in all, a great place to stay and would thoroughly recommend.

Room Tip: We were warned that sea view rooms on 1st floor were affected by traffic noise. We did not think it...
