With no signs pointing to its whereabouts, my family and I stumbled upon this which was a nice surprise.

This is only a 2 minute walk from the centre of Sorrento, it’s a shame you can’t walk it and you can only look down, it’s only a 5 minute view for a nice picture and a video but it is remarkable to look at.

A beautiful sight that I’m so sad you couldn’t tour this 200 year old mill. You can sadly only enjoy its beauty from a far away bridge. My daughter was blown away at the sight thinking it was an old castle.

We had read about this and were in the area we were sure it was.
When we had about given up we decided to walk away from the coast and crossed a bridge. Down in the ravine, we saw our quest. We photographed it from the bridge and had the picture enlarged to frame in our home when we got back in the states. It is just that pretty.
Sorrento is such a wonderful place with many hidden walks. We were so disappointed to learn there were no tours of this facility.

The Vallone dei Mulini is a very interesting place for a quick visit. It can be seen from the road and pathways above, where there is also a small information board and a bench. Be aware that it is not possible to get up close to the old mill building, so only a short visit is needed.
It is also only a short walk from the main square in Sorrento, so it's worth adding to your to-see list if you are in the area.

We were disappointed to find you can no longer go down to the ruins. Smaller than expected. But pretty cool how it's tucked away in the middle of the city like it is. We went out of our way to see this - probably not worth the extra trip, but if you're already in the area, take a moment to go have a look, it's pretty cool.

We stumbled across this one day whilst walking about.
It’s not really somewhere to come out of your way to find, but it does look lovely.

BE WARNED, do not lean against the railing. I put my hand on it and within seconds my hand was covered in ants.

If you walk away from the sea, along the main road, on the right you will notice some railings. Look down and you are treated to a beautiful little sight. This old mill is really pretty, deep down in the gorge. You completely forget the hustle and bustle as you look at the abandonment and the natural growth around it - it’s pretty beautiful and unexpected in the middle of Sorrento.
At some point, you will be heading down to the port or to Piazza Tasso and it’s then that you should have a wander across the road to see this. Don’t go out of your way: it’s a small site, you can’t go down to it and you’ll be here a few minutes maximum. It is worth those few minutes of your time, though!

We only noticed the Mill while waiting for our bus to pick us up to go to the Lemon Farm.
Unfortunately I don't know to much of the history of this spot. Wish we had more time to investigate.
