“Perfect location, fantastic hotel”
Reviewed June 4, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here for 3 nights in a large, clean and modern room on the 5th floor. The room opened to a little balcony with chairs and a table. Views were perfect. We loved the hotel bar area and sat here reading in the afternoons. Lovely hotel, will definitely recommend .

Dear guest, thank you for sharing your experience at the Plaza.
We are glad that you enjoyed the view from your Superior room. Such rooms, approximately 25 to 27 square meters including the bathroom, are in fact all with a front balcony and from the higher floors you can enjoy lovely views of the bay.
You also mentioned the bar area. At the Plaza Café, open daily from 8.30 am to 12 am, our bartenders will prepare the most popular drinks and cocktails.
Looking forward to your next visit to the Plaza, we greet you sincerely.

The hotel was very clean, nice room, very quiet and near to the main square and short walk to bus stops and the train station. The breakfast was varied and plentiful.
This is a conference hotel and they are used to people coming in and
out. I found it impersonal although one of our party made friends with the waiters. They were very helpful.
No meals in evening so went out in the cold and raining to find a hotel. I would have liked some food to be on offer. Coming back and looking for a quiet drink or a hot drink we found the bar area crowded with conference people. It was too cold to sit outside end May/early June so we
had out hot chocolate in the hallway.
At the end of the holiday my partner and I said although you could not fault the Plaza we
preferred a family run hotel. You were left comnpletely alone.
The wedding parties were noisy with children running around and most of the people
were not staying at out hotel. The rooftop area had a very small pool and there were sun chairs so close together that on a hot day you would be like sardines.

Room Tip: My sister in law had a balcony that looked into the main street which was interesting. 3rd floor ro...

This hotel is lovely & modern & very clean. Breakfast was very nice as long as your not wanting a full English, lots of fruit & pastries, ham & cheese. The room was a little bit of a leg down but only because our balcony basically just looked to a wall & silver pipes that run up the hotel wall, as we were only there 3 nights we didn't complain. Also there is no mirror apart from the small one in the bathroom which isn't very handy. The hotel is in a brilliant spot bang next to the square & it's rooftop pool/bar is to die for! All in all I would stay again but definately not in that room!

Room Tip: Avoid room 101!

Dear guest,
We thank you for the time you have taken to write about your experience at the Plaza Hotel.
We are glad that you appreciated the central location of our hotel. As for the rooms, they are furnished with modern wooden furniture and parquet floor.
If what you are looking for is a view, we suggest you book a Superior room, which apart from its spaciousness, it also has a nice front balcony overlooking the main square. Furthermore, higher floors offer a view of Mt. Vesuvius and the bay. Such rooms can accommodate up to 3 people with a double bed and a single bed or 3 single beds.
Hoping to welcome you back, we send you best regards.

The hotel is Modern and very friendly. The room are modern we were located on the third floor and had a balcony which had a side view of the sea which was lovely we also could look down onto an mill ruins which was beautiful. The rooftop infinity pool is amazing with a phenominal view of Sorrento. The location of the hotel is ideal for exploring all the sites of Sorrento and although central hiidden away from the mad square!! The train station is just up the road for going further afield we went to Pompei it cost 4 euros each and the entrance was 11 euros others wer advertising this for 70euros each!! The ferry to campri is only 29euros return each so dont bother booking these excursions explore yourselves. The Hotels buffet breakfast is amazing enough to get you through till mid afternoon!

Dear guest,
We would like to thank you for taking the time to write about your experience at the Plaza Hotel.
As you have underlined the Plaza Hotel, situated in the main square of Sorrento is a mixture of colours, and modern design. It is thanks to its location, that travelers according to their needs can either choose to explore the area themselves or book an excursion. The latter is suitable for travelers, who prefer having everything organized for them and want to avoid public transport, which can often be quite crowded.
We hope to welcome you back and in the meantime we greet you sincerely.

This is an excellent, modern hotel right in the middle of Sorrento, yet we found absolutely no noise at night and slept well. The breakfasts were amazing with a huge selection of foods and it needed iron discipline not to succumb to a massive outbreak of piggery. The staff were extremely helpful and could not do enough for their guests. It may not have fancy views over the Bay of Naples but when we go back to Sorrento the Plaza will be our choice.

Room Tip: book early, go for a higher floor. The lifts are excellent and you will be nearer the roof garden

Dear guest,
thank you for taking the time to write a review on your experience at the Plaza Hotel.
We are glad that you appreciated both the location of the hotel and our always more attentive service. As you have written, despite our location right in the main square, our rooms are quiet and comfortable.
The 65 rooms, classified in Standard, Comfort and Superior, are all furnished with modern wooden wardrobes and oak parquet floors. Furthermore, the rooms are soundproof and dispose of highly comfortable beds and pillows. We are happy that you were able to sleep well at night!
We hope to see you back at the hotel.
Best Regards

We had a room on the fifth floor which was clean, spacious and really nice.
The breakfast buffet was really good: an amazing amount of good quality food.
The rooftop terrace with bar and infinity pool is a highlight: really nice view over the sea.

The hotel staff was absolutely amazing. We rented a car at Napoli airport, drove all the way to Sorrento and right in front of the hotel, the car (more precisely the engine) had a malfunction. The staff supported us by pushing the car away from the street, explaining the situation to the rental company by phone (I only speak a little Italian) and helped us in every way. Throughout the week we had a lot of chats with staff members and they all were super nice and friendly, giving tips for sightseeing tours or just having a chat.

We have just returned for a week away in Sorrento. We chose this hotel for it's central location, it is very close to the shopping area, port and restaurants.
We found the hotel to be of a very high standard. All areas and our room was presented to a high standard, staff were friendly and as every one else says the breakfast is great. We found the bar staff to be particularly friendly and always made you feel welcome.
We used the roof top terrace regularly as it was quiet and escaped the busyness of the larger tour groups that were also staying on site.
Sorrento itself is beautiful and was an ideal base to explore the surrounding areas.
This was a first time holiday to Italy for us and it lived up to our expectations. We found Sorrento itself quite expensive but this may be down to the euro-gbp exchange rate. As a young married couple we are probably not the norm in Sorrento (seems to be mostly tour groups) but that being said we did have a good time. During our time we visited Capri, Pompeii and Rome. Rome was a long day out but being in Italy we took the opportunity to see Rome while we could and it didn't disappoint.
Overall would definitely recommend this hotel for a week's holiday in Sorrento.
