Hotel Sorrento City was a dream come true! Leading a group of university students through Italy isn't easy, but Hotel Sorrento City made it relaxing and memorable for all 16 of us. After a week of service-learning and high-paced touring in the busyness of Roma, our couple of days in Sorrento was a much-needed respite. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, recommending and making a reservation for us at a restaurant where we had the best dinner of our 2-week trip to Italy. The rooms were lovely, clean and have newly-remodeled baths. I had a balcony over the main Corso and relaxed there in the evening and morning. A traditional continental breakfast with a wide assortment of delicious pastries, confections and juices was the perfect start to our days. They let our entire group keep our luggage there while we continued to sightsee before our afternoon train (which, by the way, is just a couple of blocks away). We couldn't have been more pleased with Hotel Sorrento City!

Room Tip: Ask for one with a balcony over the Corso!

Hotel City Sorrento was a perfect hotel for us. When our luggage did not arrive with us, the staff took our paperwork and worked on getting it back to us. Yes, the rooms are tight, but in Sorrento, who stays in their room for long? The hotel is very clean, the breakfast was very good with fruit juices, coffee, hard-boiled eggs, a good selection of pastries, meats, cheeses, yogurt and cereals. Our room was on the front of the hotel with a balcony. Street noise was not an issue when the glass doors were closed. The beds were a little hard, the pillows not bad, but we slept well. The location of the hotel is the best, being close to the main square and the train. The staff was friendly, helpful and very kind. Our overall experience was excellent, and we would definately return.

Hotel Sorrento City is such a pretty and great place to stay if you're coming to Sorrento. My friend and I went travelling around France and Italy, inter-railing last summer. Our stay at this hotel was particularly memorable due to a very long and tiresome journey from Asissi on the train and circumvesuviana. So we arrived with a pleasant surprise to find that there was a room vacant for the night. This hotel is a great central location close to both the main square and the train and SITA bus station. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, some of the best service we had on our Italian adventure. In the morning a great breakfast was served in the dining area, with fresh pastries, yogurt, cereals and fruit on offer. We had a big journey ahead of us this day and the staff kindly suggested and advised that we leave our bags in the hotel and visit Amalfi and Positano. The staff were so kind in finding us a room at another hotel in Sorrento for that night, as we were over ambitious for our plan on this day. My friend and I would definitely come back here on our next visit, please try this delightful hotel. You won't be disappointed.

The location is great! It is in the middle of town, close to the train/bus station, easy walk to the maria and 2-3 from downtown. The rooms were clean with basic amenities. The breakfast was nice and had many options in the morning including fresh fruit.

The hotel was nice, with kind staff that cares about your stay and always has good recommendations about food and tours. We had a few small issues, that were resolved but to be honest it was a bit of a stressful stay and for the price of the hotel, I think we might be able to find better.

We did have a small issue with the hotel, but they were able to offer us a better room and tried very hard to meet our needs. We booked a double and the only room left was a triple. She stated that when booking online if we are a couple we should request a double bed and make sure the staff know we are couple staying in the same bed. I have not been to Italy before and we didn't have this problem anywhere else, so I am assuming it is a cultural thing that i was unaware of. We spent our first night in separate bunk beds and the triple was just a lower quality room. After that night we were moved to a street view room with a balcony.

The noise is load but it never woke us up or kept us up at night.

Overall, nice stay with a clean and comfortable bed.

Room Tip: the better restaurants are to the left when leaving the hotel if you go to Positano take the earl...

I brought my wife to Sorrento for our 10th wedding anniversary and booked this hotel based on reviews from trip advisor. I booked a room with a balcony overlooking the main street and hotel was better than I expected, the staff could not be nicer. I would recommend this hotel for anybody planning on visiting Sorrento.

This hotel is in a perfect location within a couple of blocks from the main square in Sorrento. Loved Sorrento. My only complaint is that the bed was hard (pretty standard for European hotels) and there was a little courtyard off our room with no view. Quiet enough late at night to sleep with the doors open. Would recommend.

We stayed 4 nights in Hotel Sorrento City in April and were very pleased with the hotel (very clean, nice decor), the welcoming and helpful staff, and the great breakfast. The location was perfect - on the main street, but just minutes from the bus and train station, with shops and restaurants next door, and the port for catching the boat to Capri, just a 5-10 minute walk away. Enjoyed the small balcony. We chose this hotel after reading good reviews on Trip Advisor and it certainly lived up to the positive comments. We had traveled all night on a plane and then an hour or so on the bus, and the welcome for two weary travelers was very appreciated.
