“Comfortable Holiday”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2010

We were there as a group and had a very good time. The staff in all corners of the hotels were excellent and helpfull. They couldn't have done more. We had a couple of problems in our room and were fixed the same day. But I cannot not mention the food. Previous reviews mentioned that the food was frozen and not made that day. This we could tell from the frozen peas etc. Breakfast fruit was canned peaches. Must say that we had better dinners in other Italian cities. I realize that it is a 3 Star hotel but we have been in other 3 Star hotels. But on the whole it is a lovely hotel with good views and very central. Everything is close by.

The only plus side for this hotel was the actual location - handy for the down by being just a short walk away. Even though the staff were very helpful and friendly the hotel was seriously understaffed. The food was absolutely appalling, nothing fresh- all out of tins or frozen! Considering that they are surrounded by stalls selling fresh produce it was unacceptable. Two bars but only managed by one poor bar man who had to run from the lobby bar up to the roof terrace bar if you needed a drink. No snacks/drinks available in the day time, which is pretty poor for a hotel claiming they provide full service. The rooms were basically okay, fairly clean if you didn't look too closely but the views were definately pot luck - you could get a blank wall if you are really lucky! Don't waste your money going here, find somewhere else!!

we really enjoyed our stay , food was perfectly acceptable for a 3 star hotel, the staff made the hotel they were so friendly and efficient, one problem with the air conditioning was put right straight away with a smile, great seaview even a road room would have been acceptable as interesting to people watch, into the heart of the historic centre in 2 mins. would definitely go back and would recommend to anyone.

Travelled with group of singles through Tour Company. Food choice was very limited with no fresh fish or veg. No fruit offered. Breakfast continental - pay extra for bacon! Food bland with very litte choice. Good location for shops and buses etc. Staff reasonably friendly. No pool but a cold 'hot tub'! 3* Hotel with 5* prices.

We traveled with a Cosmos tour and thought the hotel was very nice. The only negative comment we have is with the design of the bathroom - if you're sitting on the toilet, your knees are hitting the bottom of the sink. The hotel is in the main part of town close to restaurants and shops. We didn't hear any of the traffic noise, but that probably depends on where your room is located. We had no complaints.

We stayed here as part of an escorted tour and found the hotel to be quite well set up. The rooms were very clean and quite a high standard. This didn't, however, apply to the bathroom which was poorly set up with an awkward shower over a bath tub. Our room had a lovely view and was nice and quiet, which was in contrast to our fellow traveller's room, which overlooked the noisy road. The hotel is in a central location and walking around the town in the evenings was very pleasant, with lots of choices of places to eat. The hotel had a lovely outdoor seating area where you can have a drink before going out for the evening.

Well situated at the end of the 'high' street. Rooms at the front of the hotel can be quite noisy as they overlook the street but it is fun to sit on the balcony and watch the 'near misses'. Once the balcony door is closed and the not too effficient airconditioning switched on the noise is hardly noticeable (we were on the forth floor). I would advise asking for this floor. About a two minutes walk from 'town' and a handy supermarket is about 100 metres away. Hotel restaurant staff very friendly and efficient. Food good. Rooms clean and bright. Rooftop terrace with live music on Friday nights. Small fitness area and a small tub. Irish bar and English bar both three/four minutes walk towards town.
